Yusuke Urameshi is not exactly what you'd call an angel. In fact, some might call him down right devilish. But when he dies in an accident trying to save a child, he finds himself in the Spirit World. Unfortunately for Yusuke, his name is not listed in the Book of Enma, which means it was one big mistake! So he should return from the Spirit World, but must pass a few tests first, and become a detective of the spiritual world.
So now Yusuke works in the Spirit World as a half-dead, half-alive agent for Koenma, son of the ruler of the Spirit World. This position does have its disadvantages, especially when you're trying to enjoy your summer vacation and Koenma gets kidnapped! So now Yusuke must interrupt his summer fun to find Koenma and trade the Golden Seal of King Enma for his life. But if someone other then King Enma has the Golden Seal there will be chaos in the Spirit World! What's a half-dead spirit detective to do?
With the aide of his closest allies, Yusuke sets off for Magma Valley, to save the life of the one who saved his, and find out who's at the bottom of this evil conspiracy.

Eizou Hakusho 1 is from the beggining of the series upto the dark tournament
Eizou Hakusho 2 is from the the black chapter (sensui/seven psychics arc) saga upto the end of the series (makai tournament)

I dont think there are any
differences in the number of fox tails of kurama during the dark
tournamemt or the later part of the series ^^ if you mean his Youko
Form... its always been one ^^ ...but if you mean his fox form.... as you
can see in the screen shot i captured, its four ^^; actually its always
been open for debate ^^...Since he is refered to as a kyuubi... which
means nine-tails ^^ so basically he supposed to have nine tails..
anyway... there's also a legend taht says... a kitsune (kuuybi)
grows his tail every hundred years... so you'd know how old one is ^^
hmmm.... young shuiichi... most of the times its flashbacks being told by Hiei...it was on the episode where Kurama was fighting with UraUrashima at the Ankoku Bujutsukai (episode 47: Youko Kurama: the Legendary Bandit)...Hiei was telling about the true form of Kurama... also i've been told there is some scenes in the OVA(eizou hakusho 1 and 2) where the young Shuiichi is shown... i cant be sure since i havent watch everything on the eizou hakusho video... (so thats why ive been searching for it (T_T) Maya ..as far as im concerned was never shown in the anime...only at the Manga (volume 7)...
No, Kurama's voice actress is a SHE, Megumi Ogata..who has also done Sailor Uranus in Sailormoon and other roles...you can check this site for more info ^^
