Episode 16- A Gloomy Battle
Shoka tells the group that the
only way to restore Miaka's health is by killing her and then reviving her using
Shoka's ability.
However, Hotohori can't bring himself to kill Miaka. The three seishi decided to
seek the help of a local doctor- turned- hermit named Myojuan. Before leaving,
Hotohori makes Miaka promise that she will wait for his return.
Meanwhile, Shoka tries to kill
Miaka as she sleeps but fails in every attempt. Frustrated, Shoka transforms
into the demon. In an impeccable timing, Myojuan appears just in time to subdue the enemy. Myojuan(Mitsukake) uses his healing ability to cure Miaka, hence revealing his
identity as the sixth celestial warrior.
*The Mitsukake-Shoka Love story*
There was a
time when Mitsukake went off to cure an ill person from a distant place. While
he was away, Shoka suddenly had a rare disease. She bore the remorseful pain caused by the
illness and kept waiting for Mitsukake to come. Meanwhile, when Mitsukake heard
of Shoka's condition, he tried to return to the manor as fast as he could.
Unfortunately, he was not able to make it in time. Shoka had already passed
away. To be able to see Mitsukake for the last time, Shoka allowed her body to
be possesed by the demon.
Episode 17- Chance
Meeting
Miaka and the
group comes across Tamahome's hometown once again. In the midst of the night,
Miaka is awakened by a strange noise. She then wanders off to the forests and is
suddenly attacked by rabid bats. The sound of the flute causes the bats to fall
unconscious on the ground. The one playing the flute reveals himself and claims to be Chiriko-
the last celestial warrior.
Episode 18- The Trap of Love
The rest of the
Suzaku shichiseishi is finally gathered. Miaka prepares herself to communicate
with Tamahome. With the help of Chichiri's powers, Miaka and Tamahome are able
to agree on a meeting place. However, Yui overhears their conversation and turns
to Nakago who gives her a pill that can make Tamahome forget the past and place
him under their control.
Episode 19- Torn Apart
Miaka, along with
Chichiri and Tasuki, goes to Kutou to meet with Tamahome. To their surprise, Yui
and Nakago appears before them. The three are attacked by the guards and gets
separated. Miaka follows the aroma of the food and finds Yui inside one of the
rooms. She tries to convince Yui that even if Tamahome did not exist, she will
still return to that world for her. Suddenly, Tamahome enters the room and
starts attacking Miaka.
Episode 20- A Hopeless Dream
Still hoping that
Tamahome will show up on their meeting place, Miaka patiently awaits for
Tamahome's arrival. Soon enough, Tamahome shows himself. Miaka discovers that
Tamahome is still not in his true self. Tamahome rips the letter he wrote to
Miaka before he left Konan. Angered over his harsh treatment of Miaka, Tasuki
engages on a battle with Tamahome but only manages to incur massive injuries to
himself. Chichiri drags the two back to Konan and upon their arrival, Miaka
turns to Hotohori for comfort.
