Console Overview

The center console contains:

• a touch-screen (TS) display.
• off-screen (OS) controls
  1. to the right of the TS
  2. below the TS
• the master switch, mounted to the right side of the center console

The TS uses icons, sometimes in conjunction with OS controls. Some functions use pop-up dialog boxes. The central iconic display is a grid where each icon corresponds to a student station. The icon numbers match the numbers visible on the front of each station.

The OS panel to the right of the TS includes: a V/U meter, teacher microphone (mic) mixer level control, controls to monitor the program via the room speakers or the control station monitor speaker, controls for the student tape stations and for copying from a master source to the student tapes.

OS controls below the TS include special function keys used in conjunction with the TS, intercom controls, and master controls for the student station tape decks.
