We not only relayed humorous events to one and another, nor just talked about our common interests ... but, not all that different from real life friendships ... we shared tears, laughs, fears, dreams, dislikes, opinions, loves, and mainly we shared a part of ourselves with each other. Many of us realize that money and distance will make it next to impossible for us to meet face to face, we look forward to our conversations regularly on the internet. *smile* And the neat thing is is that we accepted each other whole heartedly ... and readily call the other one friend. *hugs to all of them**dabbing at eyes here with a tissue*

These folks are those I have talked with for a while now (some for well over a year now) and are listed in no particular order, though I *had* hoped for an alphabetical listing ... AMUNET came online to see how she would like this format of talking over the online service she was currently using back about midsummer. . .and needless to say she dropped the other service within a short time period. Hahahah! She is most often found sitting in her beanbag chair with her laptop, next to her table that holds her "prized" lava lamp. And she is the easiest one to make laugh. . .and loves to share her laughter with others!! She and I also share a common thread . . .and that is we both love children and have large families. I also have repeatedly thanked her for allowing me to be able to say "Let me scroll back to see what I missed. . ." since she is the one who introduced me to "mIRC" as a window client for IRC-ing. She and I often (well. . .ok, all the time) experience difficulties sending files to each other via DCC, and so we have made a game out of our attempts at this. . .complete with catcher's mitts being donned. *chuckle* She shares the laptop with her spouse, BluDragn, who "times" how long it takes her to say good-bye sometimes so he can cruise the web and news groups. *waving to MageMommy* (Ok, so I am a nick-dropper. . .*chuckle*) She has a personal homepage, but her URL has changed and I don't have it linked onto here just yet, but rumor is you can find it by just doing a search on her "nick".
BRANDRUI is one of my so-called "children" and we jokingly tease around about my "angelicness" *tucking famed pointy tail back under the folds of my angelic garb* and that I will babysit his children (I live in the Midwest and he lives in California). He is not online much due to his classes and work, but the bond is still there though. He is studying design and architecture. Even though I will have to sometime talk to Kitty (his fiancee back when we first met online, now his happy bride) about the color purple and the word hair and . . .well, perhaps not though. *chuckle* *whisper to Brandrui: dia duit hon!*
BUN came online shortly after I did, and although my typing has improved a good deal since those early days (I am proud to say that I am no longer thought to be dyslexic). . .well, hers has not. As a result, typos have become known as Bun-isms in our circle and we claim that we only did the typo as a result of conversing with her thus the habit "rubbing off". *grin* Bun is one of the few non-online readers that frequent the tarot channels. . .but she and I have become pretty darn good friends all the same. And as real life friends share things dear to them in real life, I shared a personal friend with her as my roommate went to her neck of the woods (aka on the tarot channels as "Bunland") for a couple of months over the summer. We also tease Bun about her lack of culinary skills, I *think this might have resulted* from her famed attempt at cooking a meal consisting of nothing more than a baked potato. . .but I am *not* sure. *ducking* *chuckle* Oh. . .and by the way, the potato never got baked even though she tried to do so on the top of the stove. Hahahah!! *whipping out notebook to take dinner reservations requests at Bun's* *psssst!! It has also been said that scorpity-scorp took pictures of Bun actually cooking. . .just to prove that Bun *does* know where the stove is located I suppose. . .but Oggy has theorized that the bottom of Bun's oven contains a trapdoor. That when Bun places food in it and closes the door, a delivery man pops up thru the trap door and takes away the uncooked and leaves a cooked meal* *ducking from Bun's glare* She has been kept busy of late planning her wedding that will take place in England around December, 1998.
CCHI is my son #103 (*chuckle*) and also the one I have to make sure gets his homework done. *kiddingly typing things his way to "test" that he is indeed ignoring the monitor long enough to study* *grin* His girlfriend got an internet account over the summer of 1996 to help her and him keep in contact at a lower cost level (sorry AT&Ttm), so it was not uncommon to see her pop into the channel looking for him. *hugs to LIZ* *whipping out the Spanish Dictionary to make out their "private" conversations. . .* *chuckle* He is one of the few channel members that has been working on a home page as well, but more of a personal nature than related to the divination spectrum. *passing him a bottle of HTML-strength aspirin* *chuckle* By the way, he proposed to Liz on Valentines Day, 1998 and they are busy planning their October wedding. *hugs-a-rama*
CHOW - *hoping I can locate her link to set on my page* (lately coming online by the nick of Marra which is "Brit" lingo for friend or Demeter)*hair ruffle sent to ChowPup*. . .what can I say about Chow, the British woman with the rapid wit and equally as fast typing skills? Plenty!! Hahahah!! She, Bun, and I came online close to the same time. . .and she would have us in stitches as she entered the channel telling us to "'talk fast. . .the shillings are adding up over here" as she had a gauge on her window that monitored how much she racked up monetarily-wise talking on the internet. She (along with Oggy) had the pleasure of hosting one of the first Tarot channel meetings when Bun arranged to fly over to visit over the winter holidays. . .*jealous pout directed at Bun* I also learned firsthand that you never ever ever dare Chow. . .she will somehow humorously manage to gain the upper hand of the situation, which was how Oggy first found the Tarot channels and not left them since that day. . .*winking at Chow, "basque-ing" in the moonlight here* *chuckle* She also introduced a couch to the channel, the evil green meanie as it would call, a gaudy couch but she found it comfortable though. *grin* Lately she is more often found on the undernet.
DARKROSE_ is a lot like Amunet in that she is easy to make laugh and likes to share her laughter with others. She is also one of the few out of the Indianapolis area online folks that *know* of Bob and Tom (a couple of local radio morning radio personalities). . .but that is also 'cause she once lived in Indiana a few years back. *chuckle* *winking at her as I launch into singing "The Eighteen Wheels Song" to be followed by "Fly's Eyes"* I can't understand how other channels soon hear tales about her chickens though. . .*curious look* Due to the original channel we hung out on having difficulties, she and I don't get to "bump" into each other as often online these days, but sometimes surprises me by popping into the other channels I am on though to try to catch up to date. *hug*
DTKING is a man that seems to like to stimulate the brain when involved in discussions of the Tarot theme, he will come into the channels at time and throw out a "name" of a particular card to see what others say about it in response -- just for curiosity sake. . .and he has encouraged me in more ways than I think he realizes. *smile* *a Midwest style hug to the man from the east coast* (Go check out the Tarot Home Page which has replaced his former Tarot Resources Home Page) He is fun to talk to about many subjects. . .for examples: he *does* have a slightly unusual method for selecting what decks he thinks are worth purchasing and I think he might be one of the few who knows "for a fact" that Jessica Rabbit (from the movie about Roger Rabbit) doesn't wear undies as he has the scene about her getting out of a car etched onto his mind. *sitting here now, "censoring" the video of that particular movie before the kids watch it* *chuckle*
KRISTI(^) and JAN^, formerly known as JanNov or NovJan -- depended on who was talking online at the times first when logging in. *chuckle* They helped bring to the channel something novel and unique. . .they have a slightly different brand of humor, so they weren't content being like everyone else and bringing a piece of cyber-furniture or a virtual painting to hang on the "wall" of the channel. No, that would be *too* predictable and mundane. . .so they brought to the channel the grand sport of "cyberbowling"!!! *laughing* They share an internet account and the keyboard as well. . .so they will trade off frequently as to who will talk to you. . .and sometimes with no warning *psssst! Remember this just in case you happen to be talking to Jan and joking around about Kristi...cause Kristi just may surprise you!!* Hahahah!! And they not only joke around with folks on the channel online...but also sometimes crack jokes back and forth between each other as they trade off the keyboard. I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually somehow designed a dual-keyboard style for their personal IRC use so they won't have to play "football" with the keyboard by passing it all the time. *grin* Uhm, and if they do manage to design such a keyboard. . .I want part of the royalties for giving them the idea about it. . .*chuckle* *telling Oggy, my legal counsel, to take notes of this...*
LORDACID is another perpetual nick-changer of the internet set. *chuckle* He has gone from Varden to Varden93 to DragnMage to recently this one, but I greet him with my own unique nick for him of "DragnLord", which seems to have grown on him as he is now starting to use that as well. (I somehow have this thing about renaming folks' nicks. . .*chuckle*) I hear tell that he may also be found on the internet under the nick of Binah or Mentu ... *laughing as I add yet another nick to his collection* His Tarot-themed home pages seemed to have gone over well as I have seen several other home pages list his site as an interesting link, particularly more so since it "crashed" a few months back and not been sent to the home page body repair shop. *lookin' about for "dem" wands* *chuckle* *ducking* *smile*
MANDRAK is known to enter the channel and greet the others already there with "m&m"'s tm!! A college student in the Virginia area, he has been hassling me to visit him so he can actually take me to the Burger Kingtm in his area rather than me just settling for the picture of it that he mailed me one time. *chuckle* *! I wanna see the Virginian dumpster too, hon!* *holding up the picture of one he mailed this way* He hasn't been on line much here lately, I assume classes and (hopefully) a significant other is the reason behind that. *snags a handful of m&m'stm before moving on to the next nick*
*NICK LEFT UNSAID* is a dear friend to me, and someone who I feel a strong bond though even though we met only briefly in real life. I am leaving their identity secret but many will recall the various hamster and gerbil topics they used to have to greet folks into the channel. . .and have them wondering who and why we had that as a topic! Hahahah!! This person no longer frequents the tarot channels on a regular basis, though we would like to see more of this nick's presence at times. . .*hint hint* *nudge nudge* *chuckle*
OGGY came to the channel first only as a fellow British who was helping Chow out on a dare I dealt out her way. . .and he entered the channel with the inconspicuous nick of BigThang, a nick that will go down in "history" for that nick not only spawned him to become one of the channel regulars (even though he doesn't own a deck nor has expressed a desire to learn to read them. . ."'I like the people here. . .'" is his reason for his presence among us on the channels). . .but this infamous nick also gave "birth" to the "cybercloset" that is filled with clothes in a "come hither" styling. *chuckling while waving hand deftly thru the air and watching Oggy duck under his desk in "fear"* Another tidbit, he has a fondness for dark rum or Newcastletm beer. . .
OGHMA came to the Tarot channels before I came online the first time. He is the silent one on the channel at times, but will sometimes amaze us with his humorous comments, for example his mathematical theory that proves that Barney *is* the Antichrist when the letters are switched to Roman Numerals . . .his comment at the time was simply "'Coincidence? I think not. . .'" He is also someone whose opinions I respect a great deal, and even though I think he is right and yet do the opposite of his recommendation, he has never said once to me "I told you so. . ." *smile* *huggermiesters* He is also one of the channel celebrities since he is involved in various aspects of film making and script writing. *a Mighty Duck 3 pat on the shoulder* Even though he used to come online via an Atari computer set-up, he could deliver *fwhaps* with amazing elements of surprise to them and often stole the prized "key" to my "secrets cabinet". *chuckle*
PURPLROSE (aka Sleepless aka Slepless aka NansiDrew aka Peaceflwr) has the distinction of being one of perpetual nick development. *chuckle* This tug-of-war with what nick to use resulted primarily over her problems with the Sleepless nick back when she first came online in latter summer/early fall. She passed thru Indianapolis when she moved from Seattle, WA to the northern Midwest state of Michigan so we could meet *pssssst! I *still* want the kitten!!* Purple-petals had a cat who gave birth to kittens while she was still in WA, and named one of the black ones Secretive. . .so there is a little dark Secret residing somewhere in the Seattle area. *chuckle* We will be polite and not mention the nite her oldest son tried to flood the apartment while her dog was dragging her drawers around the living room while she was online. (Uhm...that is the pup was literally dragging out her dresser drawers to the living room...*not wishing to give the wrong idea style of wink* *chuckle*) Gee, Purple One, look at that interesting ceiling pattern design!! Didn't they do a marvelous job on recessing the light fixtures, hon?? *laughing* *waiting for them "lawsuit papers" here. . .*chuckle** You will hear her often mention her two loves in life, quilting and }Cyberus - the latter being her "wookie" that holds her heart in his capable hands. *grin*
RAE is the VERY first person I met on #Tarot...and the one I found out about "language barriers" with in a humorous way! *chuckling as passing RaE a cigarette* She is a channel hopper..sometimes with little or no warning, so I nicknamed her the Channel Rabbit and in retaliation has threatened to send a busload of Singapore tourists to my doorstep!! *laughing* She doesn't come on as much as she used to... classes and such sometimes interfere...but she will sometimes "hop" in for a quick visit when you least expect it!! *mega-hugs*
SCORPLADY is now a transplanted Canadian residing in California area after a stint of living in the famed "Hoosier Land" for a bit. . .and in fact she was the new roomie to my former roommate while in Indiana terrain!! Scorpity-Scorp and I had the pleasure of being able to meet twice before she moved and I moved to our separate areas.. *hunting for a twig suitable for toasting them 'mallows on while nighttime Broad Ripple-ing it* She later pointed out that on her stay here not once did anyone take her to see downtown (that was remedied on her 2nd visit though) but sheesh, Scorp, you *did* get to cruise the Broad Ripple area for 2 days, got the Voyager deck, and got to have a soda in a "jail cell" though on my tour with you about the town!!! *tsk* *tsk* Some folks are just sooo hard to please at times I suppose. . .*shrug* *chuckle*
SNOWWOLF is another one of those referred to being one of my "net children". *looking at him while humming Mariah Carey's song "Make It Happen"* *winkety wink* He and I even gone as far to greet each other as "Mom" and "Son" that to those who don't know the background story actually think I am conversing with my real life son. *chuckle* I suppose it doesn't help some folks to think otherwise as he looks out for me on the channels. . .*recalling more than once him telling someone "'...Hey hey!! You can't "hit" on her...that's *my mom*, you know!!'" *chuckle** He is a systems technician in NY, so sometimes I tend to plague him with silly questions. *grin* He is a good "kid" though. . .gotta be if he lets my oldest daughter revise his nick into a "pet name" she has for him!!! *tossing a snowball idly in one hand* *chuckle* *hug* Someday soon, "son", you and your old' "ma" here have to meet!! WATCHER(_) -- what can I say about the man who had an "evil twin" named Warthog sometimes come on to the channel... or sometimes seemed to "luck" into the lagged server of the nite, so would sit quietly and watch the channel discussions in Singapore. ::: thinking ::: Uhm...well, simply this...WELCOME BACK HON!! *hugs* *grin* He disappeared on us but lately been coming back to the channel to visit with us. *popping popcorn and slipping "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert" video in so we can sit back and laugh together at it* His luck with lagged servers seemed to have improved since his absence also....*smile*
WHTDOVE *waving to my sister of celestial peace and feathers* can be known at times online by Dovie or Dovestar. She and I started joking about greeting each other as "sisters" as a result of a "nick war" on the channel one day... she assumed the nick of Heaven and I went the opposite route. *chuckle* *shrug* We won't even discuss the "flying" nicks we went thru one day... nor the "spring cleaning" nicks.
