Dear Reader,

The countdown to Christmas 2,000 has begun. No doubt you must be planning to celebrate the great event in a special way. I'd like to share with you how I would dearly like to celebrate the event of the millennium I want to put 2,000 poor children in school, and thus give them a chance to do well in life. The children are of different Castes and Creeds.

To achieve this I need Promoters. If you accept to be a Promoter, I would send you a few brochures like this page. You may then invite anyone who you think would gladly support this cause to become a Sponsor by filling in the above Form Page and giving Rupees 600 or 10 Pounds or 15 US$, per child per year. When you have on hand a sizeable number of sponsorships, kindly send the amount to me by registered post, along with the coupons duly filled in. Please keep a record of all that you send, in case we may have to check again for something. A Promoter could be a Parish, a group of students; even an individual would be ideal.

The new school year begins on the 1st June '99. The ideal time to receive sponsorships is before that date. But we can receive them at any time.

We would begin to settle the sponsorships this side in June. In July or August the sponsors could expect to receive from us a photo of their sponsored child along with full details, and also a receipt for the amount.

A great Saint tells us that "the Glory of God is man fully alive" My version: "the Glory of God is a child fully alive!" - a child getting a chance through education to develop his or her talents to the full. How much Glory, then, will you not give to God by that chance to many needy children!! Could you think of a better gift to give to Jesus on His 2,000th birthday?

As I write we have over 1200 needy children getting an education in good schools, thanks to kind people like you.

More than anything else I ask you to pray for the millions of children in India who are crippled for life because then cannot pay for their education. In the year of Abba, Father, and as we prepare to celebrate the 2,000th birthday of His Son, will you do something great that will shine for all eternity?
