About the Artist

Chris Appelhans is the creative blood behind most of the coolest artwork on the mimir to date. The Mimir Title Page portrait is his work, Kilhans and Magnum Opus on the Cage Rattlers pages, all of the factioneers in the Philosophers with Clubs section, and the fantastic Modron Conspiracy map, and portraits of Agnossus the Chipper and the Dwarven cartographer on the Mapping Infinity page.

Chris says: "PLEASE email me and give me a critique of my stuff, I really like to know what improvements I could make...PLEASE..." You can reach him at: kil@srv.net

Chris' latest work is a cartoon for Dragon magazine, which he's kindly submitted to this page too. If you have any comments, please contact Chris with 'em...he's really keen on hearing some feedback.

Cartoon

Chris has also produced several other pieces which I have not yet used on the Mimir in their own right, but I love so much that I simply must share them with you...trust me: these will find homes ;-) They're quite big, so I've put the as thumbnails below. Click on what you ant to see and it'll magically grow to full size.

Lady of Clocks

New!

The Lady of Clocks...

Chris says she's a new version of
the Arborean lady below

...you'll be hearing more from her in the future, cutters.

Chris says: "It's really just a fanciful little watercolor I did for a mother's day present but it could also pass for a frolicking Arborean or the like." Perhaps she's an eladrin, or water genasi...though it looks to me like she's just emerged from a portal to Mechanus.

Arborea

Carceri

A portrait of Carceri itself; the Plane of Prisons. Looks like some poor rube just got hipped there, for good.

Magnum Opus, medusa explorer and chronicler of the Multiverse's most secret darks. She can be found on the mimir's Cage Rattlers pages, and she's the curator of the Musée Arcane too...

Magnum Opus

Planewalker

Look familiar? It should -- this is Chris' version of the Planewalker Handbook cover. It was part of a project to copy an existing painting, in oils (this is Chris' first oil painting, believe it or not!)

A monodrone, pulling the lever that starts and stops the multiverse (at least, if you believe Agnossus on the Mapping Infinity page...)

Monodrone

Egyptian

An Egyptian Petitioner; he'll be a resident of the Cage Rattlers page before too long.
