Time Line of A Friendship

First, you were my best friend,
With many clothes and secrets to lend.
But gradually we let it all slip away,
And talked but I was full of dismay.

I can't believe we allowed it,
To destroy what had once been a perfetc fit.
I'm sure you will agree with me,
That things didn't seem meant to be.

We learned alot in that long while,
When mean remarks filled our friendship file.
But then come one dreary January day,
"Let's be friends," I would tearfully say.

Things were back to normal for me,
Once again, this is how we wanted it to be.
But like before, we drifted our separate ways,
And pain once again filled my endless days.

"Do you really care?" to myself, I'd ask,
And I found out what was under your mask.
You don't care about your so-called friend,
This time there will not be a friendship mend.
