Colleen, Kelsey and Sebastian made the front page of our local paper in Hollister. This is just an indication of the major issues in Hollister. They actually made it three weeks ago, but I am just getting around to writing about it.
The elementary school they now attend is about 2 years old, and the enrollment has increased by 100% this year, to 750 students. This increase has caused traffic jams at the school. The traffic jams are being blamed on the parents. When the traffic was being planned for the number of cars estimated was based on the assumption that children living closer to the school than a 1 mile radius would walk or ride bikes to school. Apparently this is not the case.
Colleen and the kids were caught by the photographer as he tried to portray the traffic situation. I scanned the paper and it can be viewed on the web at:
