Character Profile Forms

Whether you are writing a short story or a novel, developing your characters is a must. The more you know about your character, his/her motivation, the way they think, and their background; the more believable they will be. I have developed three different forms that will help you get to know your characters. The first is the longest and most detailed. It should be used for all major characters in your story, both the protagonists and the antagonists. The next is for major supporting characters and while not as detailed, will help you keep track of their physical characteristics as well as their motivation, and the role they will play in your story. The final one is for minor supporting characters, the ones who play a minor role but are important to the story line. Some may even appear off and on in your story. If you decide for instance, that Tom is a blue-eyed blonde and Reena is a green-eyed brunette, and you don't write it down somewhere; you will have to search through your story to make sure that you've kept the details straight.
