Archer Races-16 Wins-11 2nds-0 3rds-2 Prizemoney aprox$4500- SIRE- William Tell DAM- Maid of Oaks |

Archer winner of the first two Cups. A third consecutive Cup eluded him when his entry for the 1863 Cup arrived on a public holiday. His first two victories were one act affairs due to the superior horsemanship and knowledge of trainer Etienne de Mestre. Though the "trip from Nowra story" may be a myth there is no doubt the horse's fitness and stamina were a benchmark. |

           The Barb Races-23 Wins-16 2nds- 2 3rds- 1 Prizemoney $20,000- SIRE- Sir Hercules DAM- Fair Ellen |

The Barb, weight carrying champion. The "black demon" won all Australia's best races and won the 1866 Cup as a three year old. He was trained by "Honest" John Tait, who also trained another three Cup winners. It's reported that The Barb only ever lost races when the money and expediency desired. The Barb raced in a time when racing was always two but more like a thousand steps behind the "fixers" or "bookie ring" conspiracies. |

| Carbine
           Races-43 Wins-33 2nds- 6 3rds- 3 Prizemoney $59,252- SIRE- Musket DAM- Mersey |
        Winner
          1890

Carbine - Champion Galloper and Sire. Weight carrying record holder for a Melbourne Cup winner still to this day. He went to England and stood with St.Simon at the Duke of Portlands Stud and put New Zealand and Australia on the map in world racing circles. Its interesting to note that Carbine can be traced to both Phar Lap's Sire and Dam's breeding lines. |

           Poseidon Races-33 Wins-19 2nds- 4 3rds- 3 Prizemoney $43,036- SIRE- Positano DAM- Jacinth |

          1906

In 1906, as a 3yo Poseidon won the VRC and AJC Derby's, AJC and VRC St.Ledgers, the Caulfield Cup and of course the Melbourne Cup. The tale of Chinese market gardener Jimmy Ah Poon and his idol "possumum" (Poseidon), the horse he couldn't pronounce and his spectacular betting in all the 3yo's great victories is one of the enduring Cup stories. |

| Peter
          Pan

          1932 & 34

This charismatic two time Cup winner with Andy Knox up. Peter Pan was a versatile galloper, his second Cup victory brought emotional scenes and shock to his "knockers". He went to stud with great expectations, but tragicaly died with only a handful of progeny. |

The son of Heroic was a staying professional. Just a 3yo, he won the 1933 Cup with a split hoof defeating a good field. A dual derby winner the same year he raced in Australia's Golden Era of racing matching strides with great horses like Peter Pan, Rogilla and Chatham. |

Rising Fast takes out the '54 Cup after his victory in the Caulfield Cup. The following year trying to repeat the double again, he took out the Caulfield Cup. But, Toporoa with a light weight and after giving the "champ" a few bumps along the way outgunned him in the "Big Two Mile". |

Galilee's devasting 1966 Cup win gave Bart Cummings his second quinella in the Big Race in consecutive years. Galilee won major Cups races with big weights. Injury prevented him from recording even more notable events on the turf than the great deeds he had already achieved. |

A great favourite with crowds and an association with a soon to be minister of religion Darren Beadman proved an ominous partnership indeed. |
