I have been studying the craft for almost 5 years. I Follow the Strega tradition, and I was ordained a High Priestess about 7 months ago. My coven, Ravens Light, only has four members right now but Its really nice that way so we can really get things situated before we accept new members.
When I first looked into the craft it was kind of by accident. I had met someone (who is now my High Priest) and he was talking about it. I didn't even realize what he was talking about was a religion. But when I did I was amazed... I had been searching through many religions for some time and this just found me and it fit.
I am somewhat empathic, I just have trouble turning it off...so I tend to get way to much stuff and can't figure out where it is coming from. I also do automatic writing, and have been teaching my coven how to get in touch with their angel. My totem animals are a raven and a cat. I have been trying to learn tarot for a while now, and I just got The legend Arthurian deck for Yule from my High Priest....and things seem to be clicking with it. I have also done runes and crystal ball gazing.
I am 19 (rampant gemini LOL) and have been interested in the craft for 6years, seriously studying for about 1 1/2 . I feel that it chose me.Whenever I would look into any religion, it just didn't have the same feeling of home that Wicca had. The more I learn, the more I am amazed that someone has a name for these beliefs I've had all my life. =)
I am currently solitary, although I may be starting a coven with a few close friends in the
near future. I am currently learning British Traditional (leaning towads Gardnerian), from a local teaching coven. I practice because I feel the need to celebrate life, and Wiccan rituals/practices make me feel more connected to the Lord and Lady.I feel that wisdom can come in many forms.
My favorite things non-religiously speaking, are my fiancee for one! All of our animals/children-Cali and Chincia (the ferrets), Harley andFennel (the hedgehogs), Artemis and Isis (the kitties), Iris and Thalia (the sugar gliders), Abigail and Clyde (the bunnies) and Jack (the min.pin). Yes- I've never been pregnant but I do feel like a mommie! I also love Ren. Faire, which is where my fiancee and I work during the summer months (may theGuild of St Helena prosper!!!).
I spend the most time studying religion.I like to know the history of my faith, so have been going over it with a fine-tooth comb! Well, at the very least I've been studying methods of worship/ possible beliefs held by the Ancients. The Golden Bough was probably my favorite book so far- it gave lots of very interesting tidbits aboutlore/superstitions etc. Yup- Im a bookworm.
As far as other things go, I am getting better each time I use the cards. My best friend just bought me the Goddess Deck, so I am excitedto use those. My most used deck is the Hanson-Roberts deck (love her pictures!) although I like the feel of the Robin Wood tarot also. I also enjoy kibbitzing until dawn over many a cup of java- and I love this world. In my spare time that I'm not reading in I like to be crafty- I make and sell hemp and bead necklaces and make candles. As of right now I am a waitress and student, but someday (hopefully sooner rather than later) I will obtain my PH. D. in psychology and open my own private practice.
I'm 35 and I am very new to the craft; I have been running from it for years and finally in November of 1998 I stopped running and faced it head on. Since I've stopped running and embraced my true self and the path I was meant to follow, everything in my life has turned full-swing for the better! I'm still amazed at how accepting the Wiccan path could bring such sweeping changes, and so quickly!
Sometimes I wonder if I chose this path or if it chose me *grin*. I had been following a pagan path studying native american and celtic shamanism and I kept running into other witches, the Wiccan Rede, and everything about the word 'witch' caused a great fire to burn in my belly. Finally I realized that the craft was tapping my forehead, saying 'hello!!!!! Is there anyone in there???' and patiently waiting for me to realize this is where I'm supposed to be.
I am highly clairvoyant, and have worked with the elements and 'all our relations' - crystals, herbs, trees, water life - for a long time. When I realized that Wicca encompasses all of this, I sort of fell head-first onto the path. It was nothing subtle *laugh* It was certainly a long time coming, but I thank the Goddess that I am home!
I practice because I am inherently a healer. I use all of my gifts to heal myself, my friends and family, my extended human family, all of my relations, and Mother Earth. I have been a healer in many past lives and can remember holding hands with my sisters, chanting and walking into the sea.....Concentrations: Animal totems, candle magick, clairvoyance, visualization and healing
I'm also drawn to runes (I have a very strong celtic background), but have yet to cast any, and I'm currently learning to read Tarot.
I am 40 and holding <g>. I have been practicing the craft for 27 1/2 years.I was born with a high level of ESP, and in learning about it, I learned about the craft. It felt like I came home.
I began a new tradition on February 1 and an currently building a coven. I am also a pagan homeschooler.Concentrations: What are your specialties, things you spend the most time studying, practicing. Herbs !!!
I am a 41 year old female eclectic Solitary. I have been practicing and studying for the past 3 years. I only recently chose my Craft name as I didn't feel I was spiritually ready for one. I didn't really choose to study the Craft, it chose me. I have always been very nature oriented, but while in a bookstore one day, I ran across a book called "Green WitchCraft". I read alittle of it and feelings just flooded over me and I felt as though I were being called. I am very selective in the books I choose to read and make sure the authors are reputable and speak from experience not just information passed through the grapevine.
I worship the Goddess/God in general as I have not been called by any one aspect of them yet. I have an affinity for candles, which is one on my hobbies to make and thus have a preference for candle magick. I am still very much a novice and have much to learn and always enjoy hearing from others about their experiences. I have always been a Solitary, but would very much be able to one day be apart of a coven. This would for me be an ultimate learning experience. My goal is to be able to share my knowledge with others who are interested and try to stop the prejudice and ignorance so many have towards this glorious religion.
I am 28 and a High Priestess of House of the Crystal Dragon in Newport News, VA. I have been praciticing for 20 years and have been a HPS for 3 years. My coven is new so I hope to have a prosperuous coven and I hope to teach others and bring Paganism into a positive light. I do follow an eclectic way including a celtic, egyption, and Norse pathes. I formed my coven with my former teacher when we found that we could run a coven better that the ones who were running the one we were in.
I am a History Major. I have been pagan all of my life (thanks to ma) My matron Goddess is Bast. I am a co-founder of P.AT.H (pagan alliance of tidewater/HamptonRoads). Currently I am planning the first Spring Fest and getting handfasted in August to my long time beau Dylen. I hope to write a book afterwards on
handfastings.
I am 43 and I have been practicing the craft for about 15 years. I choose to practice the craft, because it made sense to me. I am part of a coven, and am an ordained HighPriestess, but I consider myself an Eclectic Celtic Wiccan. We have considered starting our own church, but that seems to be beyond my range at the moment so it is still just a dream. My personal totem is a Bison.Concentrations: I have done quite a bit with divination, healing, and rituals, and currently it seems I am working on public information - trying to achieve an understanding with the public about Wicca. I am a consultant with the state prison system and want to work with all the area city/county agencies. I hope this is not a lost cause. I wish to be known as a person to go to when they need straight answers about what Wicca is and is not.
I am 37 years old and my totem is a Mourning Dove. I feel that all my experiences have been a part of my study, and even before I had a name for it I have been practicing the principles of the rede and the 3-fold law, was initiated with my lifemate, Rob/Saccura this past yearThere is just my lifemate and myself, my daughter(15) has shown an interest, and my son (16)is showing an openmind. Some of the favorite people in my life are <g> Sacc/Rob, Faith/Becka, Guilty/Sean, the three dogs, two cats, one chinchilla, one ball python, and then my on-life family at irc.sorcery.net #cyberwitch, Moonschild and Wolf^Dancer.
I chose to practice the craft, because it was a natural course to follow for me. It is hard for me to put into words what is so clear in my heart.Concentrations: What are your specialties, things you spend the most time studying, practicing. I have recently concentrated my time on herbs and other paths.
The two things that I hope to learn or understand is my own abilities and limitions.
I am 32 years old and live in the north of Sweden. My grandpa used to tell me about the fairies and the Lady and how to always leave a bit of food to the fire. So, I have been on the pagan path for years, but just recently started to study it more seriously. I am solitary, a free spirit who will first define my own way before following anothers. The deities currently speaking to me the loudest are Demeter, Persefone, Dionyssos and Athena. (greek freak)
Almost a year ago I started to learn about totem animals from a Native American friend in a chatgroup. I discovered I can somethimes see other people's totems and I also learned how to communicate with my own.Concentrations: totem animals, divination, scrying, defining my own religious system(that takes time!!)
I am 23 years old and the founder of Finding the Path. I am just finding my path and have been doing a lot of research and studying. I am finding that there are others who believe as I do and that I am not as strange as I thought. I am practicing as a solitary on the ecclectic path. One of the main reasons I am looking into Witchcraft (and finding what I need), is that I am empathic. I also use this in a calming, relaxing, healing fashion with others, soothing them, removing or lessening pain, etc. I feel the energy and emotions that those around me feel. It can be frustrating at times, as I have little control, though I am working on it. Though I can sometimes concentrate or meditate enough to "tune in" to the people around me and to myself. It is just stronger sometimes than others. I can sometimes use this same process to see people or events that will effect them in the future. I also sometimes pick up vibrations, like power I guess, from objects.
I am still a novice, but I hope to learn all I can. I also want to help others who are in the same position, because I know sometimes you just need to talk to someone who would understand.
Concentrations: empathy, healing, candle magick, clairvoyance
