Spell to Draw Love into Your Life

Note: This spell is meant to draw love into your life. It is not meant to be done with a particular person in mind. If you do not think you can do this spell without wishing for a certain person, or you already have an attachment to a specific individual, please do not perform this spell. Moon Phase: Waxing
Day: Friday, ruled by Aphrodite - love, friendship
Moon Signs: Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra
Other: The first Friday after the new moon is best.
Direction: South, Fire
Herbs: basil, chamomile, cinnamon, dill, ginger, jasmine, lavender, nutmeg, rose, rosemary, peach, peppermint, strawberry, vanilla
Incence: Vanilla (recommended)
Oil: Rose (recommended)

Note: Other herbs, incence and oils may be chosen by looking at the correspondances and matching your need to the supplies on hand.

Candles: 2 pink, red, or white and 1 burgandy or maroon candle
Stones: One rose quartz

Preparation: Visualize the qualities that you are looking for in a partner. You may get a piece of red, pink, or white posterboard ahead of time and make a collage of pictures that express these traits. This does not mean just physical traits, but words and qualities you seek. It could be two people in an embrace. People dancing are good if you wish dancing or a love of music. Music notes could also be used for this purpose. Be creative. Pictures of people you find attractive for whatever reason could be included. Use words and symbols of your desire if you wish. This is meant to be a visualization aid. The finished collage should invoke your desire and feelings of attraction in you. It should represent your need. Place this on, near or above your altar, anywhere that it is visible to you.
You may write out a list or description. Use any creative method that will help you to firmly define and visualize that which you seek.

Ritual: Open the Circle.

Take the maroon or burgandy candle annoint and charge the candle to represent love. Feel the energies of the Goddess filling you and charging the candle. Focus on your intent. Place the candle in the cauldron in the middle of your altar and light it (I light a match from the Goddess candle and then light it). Invoke the Goddess.

I call upon you mighty Aphrodite,
Goddess of love and desire.
That you may grace me with your timeless beauty
And your joyful heart.
Mighty Aphrodite come to me
That I may offer to you my adoration
Oh beautiful golden Goddess annoint me with your blessings
And be honored by this rite.
I call upon you Aphrodite that I may draw love into my life. I seek someone who can love and be loved by me.

Take the first of the two candles (pink, red, or white), one representing you and another representing the person you wish to draw into your life. Take the first candle and annoint it to oil. Visualize yourself. be careful to avoid negative connotations such as loneliness or despair. Picture yourself as happy, fufilled and loving with all the qualitites you feel you have to offer and as if you already had the person you seek. Fell the energy of the Goddess flowing through you and your own energies charging the candle. Place this candle on your altar below and to the left of the cauldron.

Next take the second candle and annoint it while holding a vision in your head of the person you wish to attract. Feel the energy of the Goddess flowing through you and charging the candle with your intent. Place this below and to the right of the cauldron, forming a triangle on your altar. Place the rose quartz in the center of the triangle. You will charge the stone during the working. You may then carry the stone with you until you recieve love. (Afterwords you may thank Aphrodite and offer the stone to her by placing it in the ocean, or a river or stream.)

Light Your candle. State what you have to offer and why you wish to attract love into your life.

Write on a piece of on a piece of paper (red or pink paper, or with red or pink ink) all of the qualities you can think of that you wish to attract. Be specific and stay positive. Avoid words like no, doesn't, isn't, can't, won't, etc.

Light the other candle. Read the paper aloud and offer your need to the Goddess. Set the paper on fire in the third candle, then drop it into the cauldron with the first candle. See the energy flowing into the universe from the candles and your spell. Know that you will find the love you seek.

Ground yourself and relax.

Consecrate the cakes and ale.

You may use cakes spiced with cinnamon or other herbs related to the working. In the months where fresh fruits and vegetables are available, it is also appropriate to use these to honor the Gods and Goddesses.
You may wish to use melons, seedless grapes, peaches, apricots, pomegranates, apples, or other feminine foods if you are working to attract a woman (or specifically honor the Goddess in any working).
You may use oranges, lemons, sun focused fruits , or phallis shaped fruits and vegetables to attract a man (or honor the God in any working).
