Runes

There are many different meanings associated with the runes. This is just one collection. You should work with and meditate on the runes, to see what they mean to you. As with all forms of divination, the best interpretation is a personal one.

	Fehu, Feoh (Cattle)	power, wealth, finances, undertakings will prosper.
	Uruz, Ur (Strength)	rapid change; new responsibilities, getting around obstructions. Good for high risk ventures
	Thorn, Thurisaz (Protect)	protection, allows one to overcome danger.
	Ansur, As,  Os, Ansuz (Wisdom)	communications, social ability, poetry, and passing exams.
	Raido, Rad (Journey)	travel, inner journeys, communications; change is implied.
	Kenaz, Ken, Cen, Kaunaz, Kano (Energy)	very positive, good fortune in creating  talismans, music, poetry, and writing.
	Gebo, Gifu, Gyfu (Partners)	good things in gift giving and personal relationships.
	Wunjo, Wynn, Wyn (Harmony)	happiness, love and all things good.
	Hagalaz, Hagal, Haegl (Limits)	unpredictable, primal forces of the cosmos, frustration and a need to understand what is happening.
	Nauthiz, Nyd , Nied  (Patience)	a situation is blocked and patience is needed, excellent long-term rune, but not for matters of the heart or sex, you may need to start building bridges towards your desire.
	Isa, Is (Static )	step away or take a break from the situation
	Jera,  Jara,  Ger (Harvest)	the time when you can reap rewards for your actions. It also symbolizes birth; either of a child or business
	Eihwaz, Eoh, Yr (Rebirth)	protection, rebirth and occult knowledge. It is never evil
	Peorth, Peord, Perth (Destiny)	hidden things, lucky for gambling or financial speculation. help to find misplaced items, or memory
	Algiz, Elhaz, Eohl-secg (Friendship)	protection from enemies, friendship, success, grounding.  It is a very powerful rune to summon the gods.
	Sigel, Sowelu ( Victory )	the life force, extremely positive rune that bodes well for health
	Teiwaz, Tyr, Tir (Warrior)	all battles,  positive spirit that is helpful in recovering from an accident or illness.
	Berkana, Beorc (Purity)	nuturing, womanhood, and Gaia herself.  domestic matters; i.e. children, spouse and family
	Ehwaz, Eh, Eoh (Progress )	gradual change defines surrounding runes, and makes flaws in them obvious
	Mannuz, Man (The Self)	rational mind, learning, inventiveness, and relationships. Good in situations where aid from others is needed.
	Laguz, Lagu (Emotions, Female)	artistic endeavour, psychic powers, and the imagination
	Inguz, Ing (Potential, Fertility, Male)	extremely positive, brings great power which will make your endeavours a success
	Dagaz, Daeg  (Ambition)	daylight, valuable in cases where a situation must be looked at on all levels, everything out in the open, nothing hidden
	Othila, Odal,  Othel, Ethel (Property, Family)	the family, home, land, furniture and ancestry, all domestic duties and even elders and traditional family responsibility
	Wyrd (Blank)	blank and mysterious,  outcome is inevitable. could be pleasant or unpleasant.

The combination of runes and candles can lead to some very powerful magic. Some of the most potent candlemagic results that I have had    have come from  combining colors, runes and numbers together in spellwork. The  idea was  presented in "Wheel of the Year" by Pauline Campanelli. According to Pauline, runes will  operate more powerfully when   inscribed on a candle if they are inscribed the number of times that    corresponds with there  placement in the line of runes. Simply inscribing the proper  number of runes  is an option, but forming them into a runescript is better. Here  is a list of  intentions and correspondances she has listed.
