I strangely feel nothing
now that you've left.
Is it because I've known you
for too short a time
that I don't know what it feels like
to be around you?
Or too long that I can't feel
the difference your presence makes?

But now that you're gone
what I'll remember most
is your laughter
for it never sounded like
anyone else's
and until I hear it again
I won't need to miss you.
