10 Song Writing Tips

  1. WRITE EVERY DAY. writing needs practicing, just like playing a musical instrument.

  2. START A NOTEBOOK with your songs - if you write a song every day, in one year you will gather hundreds of songs, a few of them should be worth publishing...

  3. CARRY YOUR SONG NOTEBOOK EVERY WHERE because ideas will come to you in the strangest places!

  4. WRITE FOR PEOPLE - don't be a snob, make your songs listenable to ordinary people, because you will eventualy want them to pay a lot of money to hear them.

  5. WRITE FROM YOUR HEART - look back to your deepest wounds and happy moments, this is where the best ideas come from.

  6. REWRITE YOUR SONGS - every song has problems, fixing them will give you the perfection you are looking for.

  7. LISTEN TO A LOT OF MUSIC and try to understand why the writers did what they did.

  8. BE RESPECTFULL to other people's music - they tried their best just like you do.

  9. ALWAYS BE PATIENT!!! your door to succes will open eventualy.

  10. DON'T SELL YOURSELF SHORT. you can't expect other people to think more of you than you do.
