10 Tips for the music student

  1. There are a lot of considerations you have to make while choosing a Music teacher, we can help you with some of them but the most important thing is a good relationship of respect, trust and motivation between the teacher and the student.

  2. PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT! Like anything else: no pain-no gain. Don't give up and if your teacher is any good - he won't let you to. **Practicing doesn't have to be a pain - it can be a lot of fun!

  3. Ask your teacher to let you play songs that you like.

  4. You have to insist on taking a lesson every week, holidays too.

  5. A good teacher is invaluable - he can give you Musical knowledge, theoretical knowledge, advance your way of thinking and that's priceless.

  6. When you feel you're not making enough progress, TELL YOUR TEACHER- he'll know what to do.

  7. Every student has his ups and downs - the trick is to enjoy the ups and survive the downs. The main thing is never to give up!

  8. Try playing songs you hear and love. If you can't - ask your teacher to write them down for you. It's a good excercise that will develop your ability and it's interesting too.

  9. Manage your payments to your teacher carefully in order to prevent discomforts later on.

  10. Play for others and ask their honest opinion - constructive criticism is always helpfull.
