These are the resources in which I found the information used in this website. I haven't done the work of providing footnotes to reference every fact, but I did distill all the information I've used on these pages from these sources. Each nugget of lefty information can be found in one of the books below. One fine day I'll have time to re-read and annotate this site properly, but don't hold your breath.
- Left Brain Right Brain, Perspectives from Cognitive Neuroscience, by Sally P. Springer and Georg Deutsch. Fifth edition, 1998, W. H. Freeman and Company, New York. This book is written in an accessible style for all of us non-neuroscientists.
- The Left-Handed Book by Rae Lindsay. 1980, Franklin Watts, New York. (link is to a current version of the book) A book aimed more at a younger audience, but contains good information.
- The Left-Hander Syndrome, The Causes and Consequences of Left-Handedness, by Stanley Coren. 1992, The Free Press, A division of Macmillan, Inc., New York. Despite the controversy over his theory on left-handers' lifespans, Coren's book is worth reading and provides a good source of information on what is known about left-handedness.
- Lefties, the Origins & Consequences of Being Left-Handed (former title Sinister People), by Jack Fincher ©1977; 1993 edition Barnes & Noble, Inc., New York. Another good source of left-hander information.
