Anna's ponies

Nova SDG

"I've seen the wondrous ponies again, Dad!"
My Anna was young then, now younger still.
Dreaming dreams greater than I ever had.
Dreams to fill the night. Some don't and some will.

My Anna's dreams were of ponies, quite real
There for the whole world to see, all but me.
Cascading down, around oceans to fill,
While I calmly went sailing placid sea.

Her world filled with ponies and giggling glee.
My small orb solemnly and earthly passing by
Here for the entire world to see, but me,
Imagination broader than the sky.

Cart wheels and tumbling through time she would be
Dreaming for the whole world to see, save me.

"Why are the ponies in the forest Dad?"
"Why are they there and not we - please, oh why?"
"I should think they lonely would be - and sad."
"Oh, I wish we there and they were here." ...sigh!

And so began my quest for answers then
Throughout the land, and yet I must confess
I had never known where horses had been,
So I found none, and yet more, I found less.

"I have found no horses, dear Anna; none."
"Perhaps they've all gone. Wouldn't you agree?"
"Not horses, Dad!" "Ponies!!" "Here for everyone!"
"Given for the whole world to see like me."

Cart wheels and tumbling through time she would be
Dreaming for the whole world to see as she.

Again I went, again I saw no more.
My Anna's dreams, hopes, and aspirations
Now bound in ponies of here recent lore.
Yes! Of course! It was all in translations!

Now perchance I met one - then two, and three.
More ponies than ever now, clear in sight.
Yes, they were here for the whole world to see.
Running freely amid my awed delight.

I lost a world the other day, yet gained.
Anna's ponies gave birth new creations.
We sat together as evening light waned
Sharing in dreams, sharing these sensations.

And yes, so many years have now gone by.
My Anna was young then, now younger still.
So many dreams, so many years goodbye.
And yet, with wonder appears joys' true skill.

Cart wheels and tumbling through time we would be
Dreaming for the whole world to see like we.
Her world filled with ponies and giggling glee.
My summation now cares and worry free.

"I've seen the wondrous ponies again, Dad!"
Dreaming dreams greater than we ever had.
