This book was owned by a
Dr. Arthur F. Hoge. It is illustrated with over 100 figures, including 41 in colour. Updated in 1907 by Arthur Keith, M.D. The book is laid out in sections referring to the body. From the head and neck, to the thorax, to the upper extremity, to the abdomen and pelvis, to the lower extremety, and finally to the spine. There is not much information devoted to the human female anatomy. I noticed that there are no diagrams or illustrations referring to the female body. I believe this is due to the fact that back in 1907 they were a lot more prudish about that sort of thing then they are today. There are however, areas in the book where doctors believed the female body was exactly identical to the male body. Today, we know they're different enough for the need of separate discriptions and explainations. |
