Well that wraps up the 1997 SCA camping season for us. We had a lot of fun and a few laughs. We enjoyed the trip to Crown, although it was quite a long trip this year. (Crown was held right above Cor D' Laine, Idaho.) We were part of the group that came in on the greyhound bus/ motorhome/tour bus. They weren't kidding when they said there were a lot of bees. I even got stung on the side of my finger. The really nice thing about Crown this year was the hot showers. You can never have enough hot showers at an event. Lebus was a great event also. Our son won a goblet for first place in the archery shoot. That also was the first time we had been to an event down in Corvalis, Oregon. We had a great time at William Tell this year as well. The Highland Games are always a blast. Thanks go out to Clan Davidson for putting on such a fantastic fun time. William Tell is my favorite archery event. I wish I could shoot a bow and arrow like my son.

We had a busy time at Rivers Regional Demo. I was told that I was to be there and volunteer. I think I over did it a bit. I didn't sit down much at that event. I would like to say thank you to all of the people who helped with the encampment while I was out working the event. It takes a lot to keep an encampment clean and well fed. I would especially like to thank Hawk from Clan MacTalis. He volunteered to help even when no-one else was up. He has my thanks and my respect. All of Clan MacTalis has my thanks and respect. At every event where they were, they either volunteered or tried to volunteer. They were there when help was needed. The SCA is a better place, because Clan MacTalis is amongst us. I worked very hard at this event. Some people were very greatful for what I had done. I was given a staff from Clan Davidson. It was in appreciation of a job well done. I'm not one to get emotional about things, but that staff meant and still means a lot to me. I cried after receiving it. I was very tired, hungry, and worn out. But I was having fun and kept on going.
