THE DANGERS OF BREATHING

You may think after reading all these health articles, you may as well not even breath anymore!

Prof. Hans Schmuck and his colleagues from the University of Goetingen, Germany, have conducted a ten-year survey that firmly demonstrates the dangers of breathing.

In every inspiration, an adult intakes as much as 3 liter of air containing an average of 21% oxygen. It's a well-know fact that oxygen can severy damage iron and other metals. In the lungs, oxygen links with haemoglobine and is carried away by the blood system to every part of the body. At cellular level, oxygen dramatically improves the concentration of negative ions which "erode" the cells walls thus provoking aging and other diseases such as cancer, artritis and the decay of muscles vigor. Prof. Schmuck has sistematically exposed rats to high concentration of oxygen and proved that this severily reduces the life expectancy of these animals. In addition, Prof. Schmuck has studied people that live in the mountains of Tibet and Nepal and discovered that these people rarely suffer from heart diseases, aging and other malaises linked to the act of breathing because at those heights oxygen is present at a much lower rate than at sea level. In one village located 24,000 feet high the quantity of people living over ninety years is significant and can't be considered only as a coincidence. Also, when people get nervous they tend to breath more quickly. This triggers harsh body reactions such as the increase of adrenaline and blood pressure. Prof. Schmuck demonstrated that this is due to the extra amount of oxygen that is pushed in the blood. Oxygen is capable of improving brain activity, but this results in severe damage to brain cells (neurons) that can't be recovered. People living at sea level is three times more prone of suffering of quick aging than those living in the mountains.

You can find the results of this survey in the last edition of The American Journal of Medicine.
