A Salvation Story
By Tiny

NOTE: I wrote this story for my Bible study group at school (for all those Madison-Grant people, that would be Wednesdays after school in the cafeteria). I have edited it slightly and inserted notes in parenthesis to make the story more understandable. It is 100% true.

A little while back, there was a high school guy. He was a pretty good guy, at least he thought so. He was involved in many things and was pretty easy to get along with. However, He’d never really gone to church. He did believe in God, though... he had just never been saved, or even understood what it meant to be saved.

One day (sometime in January 1998), some of his friends were talking to him about their youth group (Campus Life). They told him about the games they played and the great leaders they had. He liked the sound of it, but he was involved in too many other activities to get involved in something else. Besides, the youth group met on the same night as another group he was involved in.

The following school year (August 1998), the youth group started having meetings on a different night, and he was finally able to go about a quarter of the way into the school year (November 1998). When he got there, he was kind of nervous, but found some of his friends there, and began to feel more relaxed. Soon, they were playing games and he was having a blast seeing how many marshmallows he could shove in his mouth in “chubby bunny!”

At the end of the meeting, one of the guy’s friends gave a testimony on how God has come into her life. He was very touched. Then, one of the leaders asked everyone to close their eyes. The leader asked the people to raise their hands if they had never felt God’s presence in their lives. The guy raised his hand. Then the leader asked them to raise their hands again if they wanted to talk about it sometime. The guy raised his hand again...

The next night, that leader called him. They talked for an hour about God and the Bible. The leader explained many things to him, including Salvation. Finally, around 9:00 that night, the leader lead me to Christ and I was saved! Since then, I have been attending church with Shannon and I have stayed active in Campus Life and also joined FAFY (another youth group). At the end of December (1998), I went to Niagara Falls for a youth convention. My life has changed a LOT, and I thank God for everything He has done for me!
