The Study of East Asian History

The East Asia has long been regarded as mystical oriental land. In the late of 19th century. Greatly exaggerated in Marco Polo's literature, European powers had been attracted by various rumors stating that East Asia is full of golden opportunities for exploitations, and thus launching their colonization plan to subdue the East Asia nations.

The defeat of China and the rise of Japan in the early 20th century has lead to the astonishment of most historian that what actually contributed to such occurrence, and what is the relationship among the factors causing such extreme occurrence between the two nations that have so much resemblance between them.
