WHO IS THE LIGHT ?
Question # 12
2 Samuel 22:29, "For you are my lamp, O Jehovah…" Psalm 27:1, "Jehovah is my light and my salvation…" Isaiah 60:19-20, "…and Jehovah must become to you an indefinitely lasting light… 20. …Jehovah Himself will become for you an indefinitely lasting light…" Ask, according to these verses who is clearly the light? It is Jehovah! Now look at John 1:9, "The True Light that gives light to every sort of man was about to come into the world." Then John 8:12, "…I am the light of the world…" Now John 9:5, "As long as I am in the world, I am the world’s light." Jesus claims in John 1:9 that He is the true light, would that make him Jehovah? If Jesus is the True Light, then what does that make Jehovah? Now look at 1 John 1:5, "…God is light…" comparing this statement to John 1:9, & 8:12, & 9:5, what does this say about Jesus? It is clear that for Jesus to claim the same attributes of God that He can only be God and not be contradicting the Word. No where does it say in these or any other verses that Jesus is a different light, nor does it say that there is more than one light. Now to further prove the point, compare 2 Samuel 22:29 with Revelation 21:23, "…it’s lamp was the Lamb." It is clear that this verse is saying that the Lamb is the source of light, along with Jesus’ own claims in the previous verses.
