Milky plum, Persoonia falcata

The milky plum, sometimes also called the nanchee or geebung, Persoonia falcata (family Proteaceae), is a slender small tree or shrub with long smooth leaves. Yellow flowers with four petals grow at the end of branches in the winter.

This tree is found on well-drained soil in open woodland.

The fruit from this tree is edible and can be eaten raw but it is rather astringent. The wood is good for making woomeras, boomerangs, etc.
