The quinine bush, Petalostigma banksii and quinine tree, Petalostigma pubescens (family Euphorbiaceae), have the same name in Uw Oykangand, Uw Olkola and Pakanh. This is a small tree or bush with small leathery leaves. The fruit of this tree is extremely sour and is not eaten, but it can be used to treat toothache.
