My name is First Follower. I was inspired by Tom Petty in the ninth grade. When I made this page I was a Senoir, but now I'm a Freshman again. Thomas Earl Petty has always been the single most important figure in my life.
It is only proper to dedicate a page to him and his life.
This is why I do it. Im not special, just a DIE HARD TRUE ASS PETTY FAN. |
It's not a joke to me.
My best friend and I were just serfin the net one day....
AND BAM!!!! NEWS FLASH!!! TOM PETTY IS DEAD!!!!
so we just stare at like 4 or 5 yahoo links saying
that our idol was dead. Tom Petty inspired me, made me
who I am today. We both cried and tried not to let the other see.
When I found it was a pun, a sick and twisted pun,
I WENT CRAZY. Sure, its funny hohohohoho Im laughing.
some sense of humor. If I ever meet those basterds I'll
beat the living shit out of them.
When I was suicidal and had nothing to live for,
at the lowest point in my life, and its happened more than once,
Tom Petty shows up singing I Wont Back Down.
It saved my life.
I have continued to learn and play and love Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Through it all, thick and thin.
I was inspired by Tom Petty for the first time in the ninth grade.
My friend let me listen to Free Fallin, and I was hooked for life.
When I made this page I was a Senoir in Hs,
but now I'm a Freshman again. Thomas Earl Petty has always been the single
most important figure in my life. In all the world
none such as he has ever walked the Earth.
His songs are awe-inspiring, dream-like fantasies,
of all I could ever hope to be. It is out of my
understanding how he has not yet been elected God.
Tom has gotton me through a cheating fiance', suicide,
best friends' deaths, graduation, jail, hospitalization,
evilness, and finally to enlightenment. he even inspired
(no, not worshiped by)
my new religion. It is only proper to spend all my time on this page.
If there is anything I would regret in this life it would be to never meet Tom.
And Im not some crazed fan, none of the true follwers are
I simply have three things to ask Tom, and Ive been trying to find
the way to ask them for 5 years.
First, I would shake his hand and just say THANK YOU, SIR.
For the music you've given me, and for making me who I am today.
I could never come close to repaying you for all you have done for me
Thank you.
simple, but Id do almost anything to be able to...
Second, I would ask the stereotypical bull shit question that
Tom has probably heard a million time over.
"You are like the mentor I never had in person man, What advice can you give to
an aspiring young musician like you once were.?"
even if he said the stereotypical "practice"
or "be happy" or that crap,
I would be eternally content.
Third and last, I would ask Tom Petty the biggest, most important question in my life.
Do you mean the words you sing and the feelings you present in you music?
Its one thing I have to know,
and some day hope
To ask Tom face-to-face.
