Warning: Since Dennis Pape has chosen not to respond to my request for information, the following is taken from the Menominee/Marinette EagleHerald, which is responsible for its content. Mr. Pape is welcome to make any corrections at any time, and to defend his views at greater length on this page. His remarks will be printed as received to a length of about 2-3 pages, should he choose to take notice of my polite requests for response.

Quotes from Dennis Pape

"The First Amendment does not specify separation of church and state."

To city officials: "If there is a request to put up the Ten Commandments and you refuse, you are violating your oath of office."

"You're going to see an uprising of Christian people."

"Menominee will be put on the map. The issue will be decided here, not in a court trial."

"We want to put the Ten Commandments in all public buildings."

"We are a Christian people in a Christian nation."

About the person who requested that that the Asatru religion's Nine Noble Virtues be given equal treatment: "She's attacking all Christians. But it don't bother me. I'm not paying any attention to it." NOTE: in actual fact, no attack on ANY Christian was made---this accusation of Pape's is untrue. Since Mr. Pape believes 'Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor,' we will assume this is a mistake and that an apology is forthcoming. As of Dec. 14, 1997, no apology has been received.
