Meet Faye's Family

Along with being the "super" secretary you've met so far, I have to admit that in many ways I'm a true mother--maybe not a great one--but, true to the nature of mothers everywhere. I have four children and I'm very proud of each of them. I'll start at the bottom and work backwards as I attempt to acquaint you with my family.

My youngest son is Toby Kyle. After deciding he and college didn't get along (focus more than potential, he is currently employed as a supervisor with a local phone support company. He's still living at home although we rarely see him . . . just the open or shut door to his room that indicates he has come or gone! Although still not sure what he wants to be when he "grows up," I'm still proud to have him as my "baby."

My youngest daughter (but older than my youngest son) is Carrie Nicole. She swears we never said her name out loud when we were naming her! Carrie is a redhead and that alone should tell you a great deal about her. God has blessed Carrie with a musical gift that defies my ability to grasp. With no training she suddenly came home from school with approximately eight original contemporary Christian songs she had written--and they were good! I know I'm her mother and I'm supposed to think that, but others have thought so, too. After four years in college, Carrie decided she didn't want to be a music major after all. She is currently in KY working as manager of the Bellamine University Bookstore. God made Carrie special and I hope she never forgets that. Not married yet, but she's found her fellow . . . now we're waiting for the wedding!

My oldest daughter is Alana Rochelle. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma. She was a political communication major and later attended law school in Columbia, SC. Now a single mom, she has taken back her maiden name (with a spelling correction). A successful attorney in August, GA, Alana's greatest accomplishment in our books was when she presented us with our first grandchild -- a perfect boy -- named Gavin Daniel Heaton in April, 2000!! I really need to update the photo!

My oldest son (and oldest child) is Greg(ory). After completing his bachelors in oral communication at the University of Central Oklahoma. He works for the Follett Corporation as a college bookstore manager in Berkely, California. He's a trophy-holding "Putt-Putt"-er and marathoner! If you don't believe in miracles, you need to meet Greg's family. He and his wife, Briana, have two beautiful girls, Mila and Manuella, who are living proof that the doctors don't know everything. After his bone marrow transplant for AML in 1993, he was told he would never have children. We're sure glad the doctors missed it, because they are the cutest, sweetest girls in the whole wide world . . . and I'm not the least bit prejudiced!!

Well, there are my kids. But obviously, since I'm an old-fashioned girl, there must be a father/husband in the background somewhere. Willi (a.k.a. Willi K) and I were married in September 1970.

We're as different as night and day, but we've discovered that sometimes that has its advantages! Willi sells cars for Northcutts here in Enid. He's been a great provider, but it's a stressful way to earn a living when you're dependent on other's buying habits--so if you need a car--call Willi K at (580)234-5171!!

Willi and I met in college. Although we weren't looking for "the one" at the time, we both were very much aware that's exactly what we had found in each other. Part of what has made our marriage a success (perhaps all, not part) has been our unshaking awareness of God's hand in bringing us together. We've been through some rough times -- unemployment; our oldest son was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia in May, 1990, and relapsed in March, 1993, requiring a bone marrow transplant (read about it); a personal business; bankruptcy; a major house fire; and more. Through it all, we've found God to be faithful and that's the true secret of success in any aspect of life.

Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, I'm number three in a family of four children. Unfortunately, my younger brother lost his battle with cancer in 2003 so I'm the youngest one left. I have wonderful parents who truly nurtured us in Christian principles.

I lost my Dad following a massive heart attack in April, 1996, but I know my Dad lost nothing! We had the most fantastic experience as we gathered around his bed in the ICU and sang hymns. In spite of a respirator that prevented his uttering a sound, we watched him mouth the words right along with us as we sang "Count Your Blessings." (Read about it.) He was a wonderful Bible teacher and someday I'll try and make his lesson outlines available so others can benefit and grow as we did sitting at his feet. His "Study in Jonah" is now complete.
