Did those songs you were hearing end? Would you like to hear them again?
Introduction
Welcome to the test portion of my web site. This is an opportunity for you to see how well you remember everything you have learned from visiting this site. I have written this page in JavaScript for a number of reasons: 1) I don't know CGI, 2) I don't want to have to mark the tests, it would be time consuming and you wouldn't know how well you did for quite a while and 3) JavaScript was the best way I could think of to avoid the other two reasons (other than VBScript but it doens't work in Netscape...some day) :-). For this reason (because JS isn't global, as I figured out the hard way), to submit an answer, simply type it in the text field or whatever is asked in the question and then press the submit button for that question. Make sure you submit in order and do not forget to submit any or the script will mark you improperly and you will receive a bad mark :-). Also, you'll find that the first few questions are very easy and will progressively get harder. The questions at the end are pretty difficult so the obvious may not be so obvious, although for higher rated players it will still be a piece of cake. One last thing, I've entered smart alek answers into the fields to amuse myself, erase them before putting your answer. :-) Hope you do well, and don't cheat. :-)
(1 mark) Q1: When you are setting up the board, which colour square goes on the left side of the board?
Select the most appropriate answer from the drop down list below.
Note: When you press the button to submit the question, it will seem as if nothing has happened, do not worry about this, you can rest assured your answer was submitted if you pressed the button. If you are still unsure, you may press it as many times as needed to make you feel comfortable, as long as you retain the order the buttons are pressed. I also wrote this script myself. If you experience any problems with it, please e-mail me.
