Mrs. Boulware's 5th Grade Class
WELCOME TO
MRS. BOULWARE'S
5th GRADE CLASS
Staff Spotlight
Stephanie Boulware has been at Monte Vista since 1990 and teaches 5th grade. Before joining us, she taught 5th grade at Horace Mann. She received her B.A. from CSUN and received her M.A. from the University of LaVerne in June '95 (congratulations). Her love of children and her excitement about seeing the light bulb go on is what drew her to teaching. Some of her favorite special projects include her state reports, diaramas, and her puppets newscast. Her favorite subject is history because she likes "looking at our world and seeing how far we have come and how we have (hopefully) learned from our mistakes." Thanks to Mrs. Boulware, we at Monte Vista have a terrific drama program. In addition to directing, she also writes the Winter and Spring plays. She comes by her love of theatre from her previous life as a professional costumer. She made costumes in Anchorage, Alaska for many events from Halloween parties to plays to businesses.
Mrs. Boulware has three children -- Sean who teacher upper chorus at Monte Vista, Doug who runs track at C.V., and Katie who is Assistant Drama Club Coach. She also has two Toy Terrier dogs -- Chip and Dale, a cat named Ginger, and a fish named Rocky. She enjoys sewing and collecting Native American dolls and artifacts. She likes all kinds of music and couldn't name a favorite movie, but did know it would be a musical. Her favorite television show is Law and Order. I'm surprised she didn't say it was Popeye since her favorite vegetable is spinach. Her favorite beverage is Diet Coke, her favorite color is maroon, and her favorite vacation spot is Europe.
Mrs. Boulware's Homework Tip: Write down each assignment and do homework A.S.A.P. so the assignment directions won't be forgotten.
