Costume Book Report Instructions

**FREE CHOICE OF BOOK(100 pages)

PROJECT - Dress Up In Costume

Choose one of the characters from your book and decide on an appropriate costume. You will be dressing up in clothing similar to the clothes worn by the character you have chosen. Try to be clever in your clothing choice. Use materials which you have available at home. You do not need to purchase any clothing of any kind for this project.

If your character wears regular clothing, please borrow clothes from a friend or a family member. You must change into clothes. You may not wear your regular clothes as a costume. Bring your costume or clothing choice to school and you will be able to change in plenty of time for your oral presentation. If your character wears a certain type of make-up you may use the make-up if you make sure you bring something to take it off with right after your presentation.

ORAL PRESENTATION

You will give an oral presentation in front of the class. Tell the story from your character's point of view. You may use notes during your presentation to help you remember. The notes are for your use only and do not need to be turned in. Plan your presentation in a timely manner and be prepared on your assigned day.

PRESENTATION SCHEDULE

You will have a choice of presentation days Monday through Friday. You will give your presentation on your assigned day. Your presentation will be an average of five minutes.

Special instructions for Mrs. Young's Class:

1. Students should not read from their notes for the presentation. The notes are only a guide.
2. Mrs. Young will post a sign-up calendar in the classroom a few weeks ahead.
