Staff Spotlight on Mrs. Doyle

Mrs. Doyle has been teaching at Monte Vista since September 2001. What she really likes about teaching at Monte Vista are the wonderful students, staff and parents. Before she came here, Mrs. Doyle taught 2nd grade at Sylvan Learning Center. She received her undergraduate degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education from Edinboro University in Edinboro, Pennsylvania. She received her teaching credential from Pennsylvania, Washington and California in 1998 and 2001. Mrs. Doyle decided to become a teacher because her mother was a teacher for 30 years! She grew up around the work her mother did and was a fixture in her mother's school as a child. Mrs. Doyle finds it very rewarding to watch children learn new things.

Mrs. Doyle's favorite children's book is "The Little House" by Virginia Lee Burton. Her favorite children's authors are Judy Bloom and Chris Van Allsburg. Her favorite food is Italian. Her favorite trip was to Barcelona, Spain.

Mrs. Doyle grew up in Belle Vernon, PA with one sister. Her family enjoyed camping and traveled to many places. She remembers fondly picking vegetables in her grandparent's garden. Her favorite teacher was the 8th grade science teacher and found that humor is an important part of life!
