Abi is in New York City, finishing up her doctoral degree in Education at the historic Teacher's College of Columbia University. She is currently teaching at Queens College for the summer.

In January 2005, she married Denny Kung, who recently earned his MBA from Columbia Business School and will begin working at Microsoft as a short-term financial strategist in mid-July. Abi will be working on her dissertation for a year in NYC before joining Denny in Seattle.

The two met while at UCLA, where they both received their bachelor's degrees in 1997, Abi in English/American Literature (with a specialization in Asian American Studies) and Denny in Psychobiology (with a minor in Economics). Abi worked as an elementary schoolteacher for three years at Andasol Elementary before going back to school for her master's degree and subsequently her PhD.
