Religion in the Aquarian Age

.....power to the people

Religious philosophy - Uranus style

The symbol of Pisces, with two fish swimming in opposite directions, is also symbolic of the religious doctrine that came out of the last 2,000 years: that humanity has but only two choices (directions) in life - and must choose between good or evil. In the age of Aquarius, however, the concept of good and evil will be rebelled against completely, opening the human mind to many different possible paths in life.

For example, we are taught it is "bad" to hit another person, so striking another human being is considered unacceptable behavior. The Aquarian mentality will challenge such a ''law" with the question: "what if a person is a masochist, and LIKES to be hit? Would it not then be OK to hit them?" During the next 2,000 years, you can expect more and more traditions of the Piscean age will be challenged in such a way. As more of humanity become 'tuned' to Aquarian vibrations, these rebellious attitudes against traditions will eventually become the accepted norm.

This means then, that many different lifestyles and practices that were before were forbidden, will eventually become accepted by most societies. Even today, in many countries it is now legal to have same sex marriages (which would have been unthinkable by many even only a few years ago), and now many are debating whether or not to allow an individual to kill themselves (also unthinkable just a few years ago). These are just a few of the many social changes that all of us will soon see, for the slogan of Aquarius is: "ANYTHING GOES...!"

From this, we can predict some of the characteristics that religions in the new age will have. Rather than a doctrine that focuses on all the things that an individual can NOT do, the coming new religions will focus on freeing the individual so that they CAN do things (whether these were acceptable or not in the Piscean age). In the same way Aquarian thought lead to the ideas of political freedom (which started in the 1780's and is now the preferred model for most of the world), this idea of freedom will eventually influence religious institutions as well.

In the human condition, however, before an individual can "do" something, one first must learn to "be" something (the "I am" principle from Aries, the first sign of the zodiac). Therefore, what these new religions will offer their followers first is the freedom to be themselves, or the freedom to find out who they are. This will open the door to mass happiness never seen before in humanity, since all past religions were actually a process of controlling and restricting populations (which is why so many people today and in the past did now know who they were, or what they should do).

Aquarian communication

The need to communicate is a common tendency within all air signs, which Aquarius is one of, therefore communication will be an outstanding feature in the coming new age. Each sign is associated with a particular form of communication, with air signs being associated to those with mental attributes. In Gemini (ruled by Mercury), this process occurs through the written or spoken word. In Libra, (ruled by Venus), the communication occurs through a more artistic approach, such as poetry and other expression to promote socializing and the development of relations.

In Aquarius, the process of communication takes on the characteristics of this sign as well, some of which are: distribution to the masses (or to humanity in general), the non- conventional, and elements that are electronic in nature. These characteristics describe very well the technology recently developed to assist communication - such as radio, television, and the upcoming digital satellite systems.

These Aquarian characteristics not only describe what technology humanity will create, but also what humanity itself will acquire! This suggests that each individual during the next 2,000 years will develop the ability to communicate with humanity in a totally new and innovative way, that will be electronic in nature. What existing form of communication has all these characteristics? Mental telepathy!

Developing your electronic nature

When you reach for a glass to get a drink, your brain sends an electronic impulse which travels through your nerves to your hand, which then grabs the glass. This is an example of co-operation between the mind and body - electronically - to perform a simple task. Actually you have the same electronic "connection" between your mind and spirit, however we are usually not taught how to make these two parts of our existence co- operate as well.

It is no fault of humanity that we are so under-developed when it comes to connecting our mind with our spiritual body. Looking throughout most of recorded and pre-recorded history, humanity has basically been taught to worship gods that are unapproachable, very far away, or who resides in unknown places. In our entire religious evolution, it was only in the past 2,000 years (during the age of Pisces) that the idea of an individual even HAVING a spiritual body come about....! (Even today, many people still question the idea having a spirit, or they do not believed it exists altogether). Small wonder then, that so few of us can connect, or therefore use, the power of our spirit.

One way we connect with our spiritual body - and many are unaware they are doing so - is when we dream. However, since dreams are revealed to us through symbolism, unless one knows the language of 'spiritual visions', then often these communications with the spirit are not understood. Dreams are also difficult to understand since they are subconscious communications, that is, it is the spirit trying to contact the mind. (If the mind does not believe in the spirit, then naturally these spiritual communications are overlooked, ignored, or taken for something else).

There are also ways we can consciously communicate with our spirit - or try to. Many of these methods are well known (such as prayer and meditation), and some are not so well known, such as trance and focus. Many of the traditional methods, such as prayer, are not successful in allowing one to contact their own spirit. This is because the basic element of prayer (in nearly all religions) is merely reciting or chanting a memorized phrase, usually to a god who is far away in heaven. Such practice, of course, does not assist in directing your mind to contact the spirit within yourself.

Focus and trance

Trance is very similar to meditation (which most people are already aware of), in that the individual consciously alters their state of mind, so that the 'spirit' may enter with it's message. The major difference being that in a meditation the individual usually sees a vision or hears a message, while in a trace the spirit takes over the body temporarily to deliver its communication.

For most individuals, meditations are nice for putting one in a relaxed state, but rarely does it actually ever put one in the right state of mind to receive communications from the spirit. Trances, while being a more successful method in contacting the spiritual world, can also be very dangerous (even for the trained and experienced individual). The individual can come under great harm if the spirit that 'takes over' is stronger than the individual, and then takes over completely (or if an unwanted, or negative spirit takes over).

Of all the methods known in communicating with the spirit, the practice known as "focus" has the best success rate. Once reason is due to the uniqueness of its design: while all the other methods are attempts to have the spirit enter the individual's mind, focus is a method for the mind to enter the spiritual plane. The name of this method also reveals the an important part of the process: for rather than "opening your mind" to allow the spirit in, one focuses their mind - or raises the level of concentration - to equal the vibrations of the spiritual plane.

The FOCUS method

In the same way one adjusts the lens of a camera - or one's eyes - to bring things into focus to see more clearly, so also does one use the method of focus for "seeing" things in, and actually entering the spiritual world. Instead of using a lens, however, the method of focus uses the parts of the mind concerned with CONCENTRATION and VISUALIZATION.

Anything humans constructed in the physical world (such as bridges, skyscrapers, or whatever) had to start with a thought or idea FIRST. In most cases, whoever designed such structures at first visualized what these things would look like, then proceeded in finding the materials and means to build them. In building your "bridge" to your spiritual body, this procedure of visualization is the first step also.

Visualization

Visualization is a process by which one holds a certain picture in their mind, with the purpose and hope that this "thought form" will eventually become reality. Athletes use this as part of their mental training to correspond with their physical training. For example, a swimmer who wishes to swim 100 meters in 48 seconds not only does the physical training everyday to make this goal, but sees - or visualizes - themselves swimming this time in their mind everyday as well. Visualizations is also an important part in positive thinking as well (something we will cover in a future article.......)

The first step in building a connection from your mind to your spiritual body is simply to imagine seeing it. Since it is YOUR MIND creating this connection, your 'bridge' can then appear however you wish! (This, by the way, follows the Aquarian philosophy that each individual creates their own spiritual path, rather than as in past ages where everyone had to follow the same process). Since each individual has different ideas concerning spiritual energy, naturally then, each person will 'see' a bridge to the spiritual world differently as well.

Research first before creating an image to visualize. It may be good to look at your family history, and see what ancient symbols your past relatives may have used, since these may still play a significant role in your psyche. For example, those descendent from the Nordic tribes may want to read up on Norse mythology (with Odin, Thor, the Ice Giants, and so on). This culture used the image of a "Rainbow Bridge" connecting heaven and earth (the physical and spiritual worlds). By choosing images related to your ancestors, you have an individual symbol, PLUS one that uses energy from their concentration as well, even if this concentration was done hundreds of years ago.

One creates an image to connect with their spirit since symbols are the language of the subconscious and spiritual world (the same kind of images you receive in the language of your dreams). There is no 'right' or 'wrong' in the creative process of making an image, so whatever "picture" you imagine is correct - not matter how weird or silly it may seem to others. The important thing is that you relate to the image, and you feel that it is significant in describing your life.

Remember, your spirit is an electronic field that is not only within you, but surrounds you as well. A suggestion then is to create an image that somehow relates to this electronic field. For example, many may have trouble imaging an electronic field surrounding a human, but may remember from school seeing those tiny iron flakes "flowing" around a magnet in physics class. These individuals can imagine then, they are a magnet, and their spirit is "flowing" around them like iron filaments.

Concentration

After creating a mental picture, one then learns concentration which then gives this image power (a process that takes months, or even years). We often think of concentration has holding a certain thought or situation in the mind, so as to enhance our dealing with it. For example, we repeat a word over and over when we are trying to learn how to spell it - or a chess player looks at all the possibilities for a long time on the board before making the next move.

Holding the picture in your mind is just one part of concentration in the focus process. While concentrating on the created image, the mind must also be searching for vibration patterns that form the "door" into the spiritual world. These are usually seen as flashes of light that seem to grow, then suddenly disappear - or as lighted 'haze' that surrounds a place or person, either as a bright white light or a rainbow of colors.

After the "door" into the spiritual world is seen, this too then should be concentrated on with your image. Over a period of time with concentration, these brief flashes of light will be seen with more duration and regularity. Once this happens, project your created symbolic image within the "door" while doing your focus sessions. While doing this, hold one thought in your mind: "I wish to enter the spiritual world". A typical session should be done three to five times a day, for about five minutes.

Once your mental vibrations begin to merge with the vibrations of the spirit, you will then start to see images from the spiritual world interacting with your image. These may be anything from strange symbols to a deceased relative, and will act as a guide. When your mind becomes familiar and balanced with your guide image, it will show you what needs to be developed so that your mind can actually enter through the doorway! When you enter, the vibrations of your mind will then be focused, or in other words, will match those vibrations of the spiritual world.
