The REAL symbol of the Aquarian Age
Actually, television is a good example, or model, to use in describing the age of Aquarius. Besides being an electronic instrument, which represents the ENERGY of this new age, it also is a device that like humanity, is EVOLVING. With its introduction in the 1950's, television was primarily for receiving news, information, and entertainment. Even then, the evolution of technology soon allowed the introduction of "live" broadcasts which then opened a new field to the audience: the viewing of a sporting event WHILE it was happening (big deal back in those days!)
Today the television set is a lot more than for just watching something. You now have access to specific information using the tele-text, and the number of interactive programs are growing rapidly. In America, banking, shopping, as well as many forms of work are being done through the TV - via their computer. (Later the basic elements of the computer and TV will merge into one instrument).
Another reason the TV is a good model for the Aquarian age actually developed quite recently. With the introduction of CNN and other such satellite stations, television is now a world wide communication instrument. World wide communication, distribution, and all forms of group and world consciousness are elements of Aquarius. So, besides being a model for the Aquarian age, the television is also the very technological foundation on which the Aquarian age will be built! (Some of you may see the similarity between many of the television antennae on top of many houses, and the symbol for Uranus, the planet that rules Aquarius).
Humanities "first" evolutionary step into the Aquarian age
In my opinion, the seeds of the Aquarian age were "planted" in the late 1700's by the great minds that produced the discoveries and ideas of this period. However, it was not until recently that we can say ALL of humanity "entered" the age of Aquarius. Those born during the early 1950's were the first generation to grow up with television, thus making them the first true generation of this Aquarian age. This was not only the first generation in the history of humanity to grow up with their minds influenced by television, but the first to grow up with their physical bodies affected from this technology as well.
Mentally, one affect television has produced is a society that is more conscious about what is going on around the world. The natural evolution of this consciousness would later lead to a society that COMMUNICATES MORE with the rest of the world as well. The usual result of communication is EXCHANGE, be it of a business or social nature, and this tendency offers a very positive outlook for the future. A society that has more opportunity for exchanges (especially world wide exchanges) has more opportunity for growth - economically, intellectually, and spiritually.
Such exchanges on a global scale would eventually have each individual seeing themselves with a global perspective. This means that EVERY human will soon see their place in the world very differently than anything known in the past. Since individuals usually identify themselves on the basis of their influence, work, or accomplishments - and all of these are now possible to extend world wide - each individual will eventually see themselves as a "citizen of the world", rather than belonging to institution or nation.
The first evolutionary step humanity will take into the Aquarian age is currently in progress, it will be how we as human beings see ourselves in the world. From the ATTITUDE developed out of this change will then produce the political and religious institutions that will dominate for the next 2,000 years.

Besides each individual seeing themselves in perspective to the world differently, they will also see themselves differently in groups. Group identity within humans also changes in cycles, the fundamental tendencies appearing to match the astrological descriptions found in the 2,000 year cycle in religion.
Europe at the beginning of the Piscean age (around 1 AD), was for the most part unified under Roman rule. Since then it was invaded from the east several times, and eventually developed into the many cultures and nationalities we have today. The current trend, (with the EC and technology that promotes world unification) would indicate that this unification pattern is returning. To predict Europe's patterns into the Aquarian age, we need only combine the elements consistent with every past 2,000 year cycle, and then synthesize these with the tendencies of the Aquarian age.
