Many famous people who have made history were born in or lived in South Carolina.  These people include political figures, musicians, actors, scientists, authors, and business people.  To learn more about some of these people from the past and the present use some of the following links, read a biography about the famous person,  look the person up in an encyclopedia, and/or use an electronic encyclopedia to discover more information about the person.

Your Assignment

Choose a famous South Carolinians to research. You may present your fndings in one of the following ways:

1.  You may make a timeline of their life showing their birthdate, important events, accomplishments, and awards.

2.  You may prepare an oral report about this person and  present  it as a TV news event.

3.  You may create a list of interview questions about this person and give them to someone in your  class who will do the interview. Prepare to do an interview for the class live or on video with you acting as the famous person.

4. You may prepare and present a PowerPoint slide show about the famous person.
