Motto: Jesus Christus Dominus et Maria Sua Mater - "Jesus Christ is Lord and Mary is His Mother!"

Purpose: This webring celebrates the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Episcopal Church (ECUSA) and the Churches of the Anglican Family of Churches!. Its purpose is to demonstrate the bredth and depth of Anglican devotion to Our Lady the Blessed Virgin Mary on the Internet and in the world.

Its Mission:
Anglicans for Mary Webring seeks to bring together Anglicans and the Blessed Virgin Mary on the Internet.

While there are many, many, sites of devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary on the Internet, most of them (an understatement to be sure) are Roman Catholic or a variety of Eastern Orthodoxy. There are very few sites highlighting Anglican devotion to Our Lady. I have been blessed by having been given the opportunity to create my own cyberspace in honor of Mary, and have a strong desire to seek other sites expressing Anglican devotion to Our Lady. I feel it is important for Anglicans and Anglo-Catholics the world over who love Our Mother to express their devotion, not only in their lives, but in the marketplace. And what is the Internet if not a nearly infinte marketplace of ideas? So, if you're an Anglican, and have a love for our Mother, this is the webring for you.

The beginning: This webring stated out as a project for my personal homepage honoring Our Lady of Walsingham. I wanted to do something special to celebrate the first anniversary of my site's existence on the Web. It is also a consequence of my devotion to Our Lady, my awareness of who she is, what she does for us in Heaven, and my desire to further promote her devotion in the Anglican Communion. I have spent many hours searching the 'Net for Anglican sites for Mary, but have been disappointed. I made this webring, then, to be a place where Anglicans who love Our Mother and who do have pages devoted to her unbeknownst to me, can link together. I want to increase my fellow Anglicans exposure to the richness of our catholic heritage that is ours by virtue of our inclusion in the 'One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church" founded by Christ and entrusted to His Disciples, the Apostles, and their successors. .And, since my desire is also to increase Anglicans exposure to Marian devotion, as expressed in the historical cult of hyperdulia, I gave my webring the name "Anglicans for Mary".

As Catholics, Anglo-Catholics have a love for the saints, and a special place in our hearts for Mary, the Blessed Virgin and Mother of our Lord; a love that is shared by our Roman Catholoc and Orthodox brothers and sisters. If, then, we have this love, why not show it the world? "Jesus Christ is Lord and Mary is His Mother!"

My hope is that the Anglicans For Mary Webring will become a gateway for Anglicans the world over to show and express their devotion to Our Blessed Lady; and, that any Anglican with a page honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary will join me in honoring Mary on the Internet, Anglican style!.

Rules: As with most webrings which work by linking together sites having a common theme, the Anglicans For Mary Webring links together sites maintained by Anglicans: Parishes, Dioceses, Orders, Societies, and individuals which express and promote devotion to Our Blessed Lady. Anyone can sign up, but not everyone will be admitted. This is where rules for joining come in. The webring is designed for a particular kind of site -one maintained by Anglicans whether privately as in individuals or small groups, or corporately as in parishes or organizations.

1. This webring is for members of the Episcopal/Anglican Christian family who have a love of our Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary. While others are free to join, please remember that the webring is primarily for Anglican sites, and to respect who we are..
2. You must have a page or an entire site devoted to B.V.M. (though pages with references to B.V.M. but which don't devote the entire page will be considered).
3. Please no pornography, hate sites, or derogatory pages, only serious, respectful and reverent sites are allowed.

4. Remember that we are here to express our love and gratitude to Mary. Studies about Mary which remain academic in nature and do not lead to either devotion or heightened appreciation of the role of Mary in our salvation are discouraged.
