The Wiccan Rede
Bide the Wiccan Laws we must
In Perfect Love and Perfect TrustLive and let live
Fairly take and fairly giveCast the Circle thrice about
To keep unwelcome spirits outTo bind thy spell-will ev'ry time
Let the spell be spake in rhymeSoft of eye and light of touch
Speak little, listen muchDeosil go by the waxing moon
Chanting out the Witches' RuneWiddershins go by the waning moon
Chanting out the baneful runeWhen the Lady's moon is new
Kiss the hande to her, times twoWhen the moon rides at her peak
Then thy heart's desire seekHeed the North Wind's mighty gale
Lock the door and drop the sailWhen the Wind blows from the East
Expect the new and set the feastWhen the Wind comes from the South
Love will kiss thee on the mouthWhen the Wind blows from the West
Departed souls will have no restNine woods in the cauldron go
Burn them fast and burn them slowElder be the Lady's tree
Burn it not or cursed you'll beWhen the Wheel begins to turn
Let the Beltane fires burnWhen the Wheel has turned to Yule
Light the log and the Horned One rulesHeed ye Flower, Bush and Tree
By our Lady, Blessed BeWhere the rippling waters go
Cast a stone and truth you'll knowWhen you have a true need
Hearken not to other's greedWith a fool no season spend
Lest ye be counted as his friendMerry Meet and Merry Part
Bright the cheeks and warm the heartLest in self-defense it be
Ever mind the Rule of ThreeWhen misfortune is enow
Wear the blue star on thy browTrue in love ever be
Lest thy lover's false to theeEight words the Wiccan Rede fulfill:
