By My Lonesome
All by my lonesome I sit here and wonder
Yesterday, looking into the night,
I thought of you as I drifted to sleep,
The night went fast and now it is day,
But deep in my heart I know that you care
Untill that day comes, together we'll roam

for you sweet woman, you were not in sight,
till into my bed I crawled so cold
and not a single story was told.
my eyes wide open I wanted to keep,
but with my sleep you came in a bliss,
tucking me in with a beautiful kiss.
out in the snow the children at play,
while all by my lonesome I sit and I stare,
looking for someone who just isn't there.
and maybe someday, somehow, somewhere
the two will be one like a poem and a song
harmonious unity ever so strong.

The flame that burns in me
The spark your thoughts and deeds

There are those who truly do believe
One shouldn't chase a fantasy
And grief is the only outcome,

She came to me
All coifed, perfumed and preened
A succulent body
An amazing mind
An answer, or so it seemed.
Not just a mind and a body 'tis true
But a heart and soul and a light,
And the first time she broke my defenses down
Was a winter Monday night
No peaceful place to run and hide
No promise of reality to ease my manly pride.
Just pent up desire, buried deep,
As deep as I came in her
And it shattered my starving, haunted soul
As no one else could do
On a winter, Monday night.
Caution many of the crowd,
One lover said that it matters
If you state the wish out loud.
To be so close yet far away
Seems cruel fate to me.
But what will be, will be.
What can I do about it
Will surely come to light
And my body may yet tingle again

take a good long look at yourself and bite your tongue.
