Signal Hill Parks & Recreation Area, Statesville
* Signal Hill * River Loop Single Track
This mountain biking park is in downtown Statesville. The park entrance is right behind a parking lot of a large shopping mall.
This section is a roller coaster of berms which are about 5-6 ft deep. And of course, there's roots at the bottom to make it real interesting.
This 4 mile loop includes a scenic tree canopy ride following a creek, and a new section which include a double switchback and a downhill plunge back to the creek's edge.
A nice challenging ride which takes about 1 hour to complete.
* Beaver Dam Trail * Single Track Tech Section
It may look innocent enough, but if you look closely, there are 3 jump/drops over roots marked by the 3 stumps on the left. Nothing like plunging 3 ft into a rut about half the length of a bike. Next to impossible to jump clean across.
