Part 4 - Job and his "friends" speak (3rd time)

22 Eliphaz - His final speech

What can man do for God? What can he teach Him?
How does it help God if you are righteous? He doesn't need you, me or anyone else!

Is that why God is punishing you Job? Because you are so righteous?

Admit it - isn't your wickedness great?
Your sins are endless - aren't they!

You - financially mistreated your brothers!
You - took everything they owned, leaving them with nothing!
You - did not share water or food with hurting people in need!

Even though you had much wealth and honor,
You sent widows away empty handed.
You worked orphans for pittance pay.

That is why you suffer the way you do!
That is why you face terror and peril!

God is above all!
But you say "What does He know?"
You think that His judgement is unfair!

Are you going to insist on continuing in this wickedness Job?
Other wicked men lost everything because they wouldn't respect God.
As for me, I will not follow the ways of the wicked.

The righteous see the wicked come to ruin and rejoice!
They get what they deserve! Good people ridicule the wicked man on the day that he stumbles and loses his fortune.

Submit to God and He will once again give wealth to you Job.
Obey Him from your heart and He will bless you again.
Repent of your sin.
Change your evil life Job - and then you will love being near to God.

You will pray to Him and He will hear you.
You will be true to your word.
You will be so favored by God that even a guilty man will be set free if you will only plead his case.
All this will happen if you will only be pure and holy.
