And so, Job's three friends did not reply to him any longer. It was clear to them that Job was right in his own eyes and that he was absolutely closed minded on the matter. Nothing they could do or say would persuade him otherwise.
But a young man named Elihu, who evidently had been observing the dialog for some time now, got very angry with them all. He was angry with Job because Job kept trying to make himself look right instead of trying to find ways to make God also look right. Elihu was also angry with Job's three friends because they could not reply to Job's arguments but they condemned him just the same anyway.
Now, Elilhu had not spoken out sooner because he was younger than the three friends and he was showing repect for their age and wisdom. But when he say that the 3 friends had nothing more to say, that is when he got angry.
