Christmas Poems And Stories

Grace for Christmas Day

Father, We thank Thee for this day.
Bless all we do and all we say.
May we each enjoy Thy blessings great
As Jesus' Birth we celebrate.
And may the love that we share here
Remain throughout the coming year.
                                 Amen!

The Gift Of Love

The afterglow of Angels' songs
Lingered in the air
When shepherds rushed to find a Child,
The rarest of the rare!
They found Him as the angel said,
Within a stable, small.
A manger filled with golden straw,
Held the Lord of all.
They knelt in adoration
Before the Baby there,
And felt His tender love and peace
Banish all their care.
No toys had they to make Him smile
No treasure to impart,
They gave what each of us can give....
A simple, loving heart.

The Nativity

...We saw His star at
its rising and have come
to pay Him Homage.
   Matthew 2:2

A scene so peaceful in the night,
The starry sky is soft and bright,
A stream of light shines from a Star,
To guide the Wise Men from afar.
A stable's where the Christ Child lay,
Asleep so precious on the hay.
Mary, Joseph are close by,
With angels singing from on high.
The shepherds kneel down to adore
The babe Who comes to bless the poor.
A king has gold to give this day,
A drummer boy, a song to play.
As God's Own Son has come to earth,
May we behold Hid wondrous birth!

Embrace the Night

Embrace this night in Bethlehem,
A night like none before,
For Heaven touched the earth tonight
Through the Christ Child Mary bore.

The Prince of Peace is born tonight
In a stable far away
As shepherds come to see the sight
And Wise Men come to pray.

The King of Kings is fast asleep
In a manger filled with hay
While angels break the silence deep
With songs of Christmas Day.

Love and Joy abound tonight -
Light the torch and ring the bell,
For the Prince of Peace reigns tonight
In sweet Emmanuel!

Embrace the night and feel the glow
That comes from Heaven above
For Heaven touched the earth below
And filled our hearts with love!

Christmas in the City

Christmas Eve in the city
Oh, the pleasure that it brings,
All the Yuletide decorations
And the carolers as they sing.
Snowflakes now are softly falling
Making everything so white,
Thoughts are turned to Our Lord Jesus
And His holy, righteous Might.
Stars are twinkling in the heavens,
One is shining extra bright,
Could it be the Star we're told of
That lit the manger scene that night?
In the morning all the children
Will wake up with eyes aglow
And open gifts that we have given
To show we love them so.
Just as Wise Men did for Jesus
With Frankincense and Myrrh,
To show their love for our Dear Savior
Now at long last He is here.

Old Toy Trains

Old toy trains, little toy tracks,
Little boy toys coming from a sack,
Carried by a man dressed in white and red,
Little boy don't you think it's time you were in bed?

Close your eyes,
Listen to the skies,
All is calm, All is well,
Soon you'll hear Kris Kringle
And his jingle bells bringing...

Old toy trains, little toy tracks,
Little boy toys coming from a sack,
Carried by a man dressed in white and red,
Little boy don't you think it's time you were in bed?

Close your eyes,
Listen to the skies,
All is calm, All is well,
Soon you'll hear Kris Kringle
And his jingle bells bringing...

Jesus, Our Savior

In fulfillment of the Scriptures
Jesus came to earth,
Not as a Man, but as a Child,
Hs was a humble birth.
There were no crowds to greet Him,
No party nor fanfare,
Just a simple setting
He entered unaware.
But the reason for His coming
Is one that must be told...
He's the key to our salvation
Prophesied from days of old.
He took on a human nature
So He could bear our sin
Upon the cross, in place of us
Eternal life to win.
What greater gift could we recieve
Than His abounding grace...
The promise that we'll one day share
His presence face to face!

Celebration !

I awake to songs of glory
On this holy Christmas Day
That is praise to birth of Jesus -
Long ago and far away;
And I kneel to Him, in worship
Offer thanks and quiet prayer
For the grace His birth affords me
From a lifetime of despair.
He is love of mine forever -
Son of God and Heaven's fold
Who was born to be my Shepherd
And the Savior of my soul.

The Candy Cane

The Candy Cane has long been a Christmas tradition. It's sweet peppermint taste has been enjoyed by young and old for years. But did you know what it symbolizes? It is a hard candy because the church is built on solid rock and God's promises are a firm foundation.

The large red stripe is for the blood Jesus shed for our sins on the cross. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace.

The white is for Jesus innocence. For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are - - yet was without sin, and our innocence we have in Him.

After this I looked and there was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.

"These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb." The white also shows the virgin birth of Jesus. The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son,...

Finally the cane is made in the shape of the Good Shepherd's staff. Jesus said, "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep." Turned upside down it's the letter 'J' for Jesus by whom we are saved.

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. So remember that Jesus Christ is the real meaning of Christmas. He can be seen in a simple candy cane.

You can have Him forgive you and come into your life by simply turning your heart to Him.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son,that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

THE TWO BOXES

I have in my hands two boxes
Which God gave me to hold
He said,"Put all your sorrows in the black,
And all your joys in the gold."
I heeded his words, and in the two boxes
Both my joys and sorrows I store
But though the gold became heavier each day
The black was as light as before
With curiosity, I opened the black
I wanted to find out why
And I saw, in the base of the box, a hole
Which my sorrows had fallen out by.
I showed the hole to God, and mused aloud,
"I wonder where my sorrows could be."
He smiled a gentle smile at me.
"My child, they're all here with me."
I asked,"God, why give me the boxes,
"Why the gold, and the black with the hole?"
"My child, the gold is for you to count your blessings,
The black is for you to let go."
