I am falling down
and I've been lied to.
I can't fish there anymore,
at the end of the pier.

There is a hole in my shoe
so I stuff a torn paper
milk carton shard until
I can afford another pair

I stare at the bottom of my glass
time will pass, as I stare
In tepid turning bubbles
time will pass

Maturity strikes again
squelching the creativity
of a once productive youth.
Responsibility killed the poet.

Time to do the dishes
clean the house again
society frowns on
sloppy charlatans.

Author's Note

This goes to show that one should not write when one has had a bad day, it shows to much of the soul.
