People world over yearn for joy and a feeling of fulfillment in life. This can be found in a growing relationship with G-d. No one is incapable of, or barred from, attaining this relationship. This is Israel's message of the Torah to the world--the light unto the Nations. "There is hope in life. There is light in the darkness."
The question arises: "How do I come into a personal relationship with Hashem?"
We are made with a built-in need to commune with other people and with G-d. Imagine trying to have a friendship with someone you never spoke with or spent time with. Even a child instinctively knows this kind of care is necessary to a healthy friendship. Just as in building a human relationship, ours with Hashem develops through time spent with Him in prayer and meditation, praise and worship, and study of Tanakh. This is how we come to learn about Him, to come know Him in a very intimate way.
As we grow in our relationship with Hashem, we become aware of the flow of His Spirit--Ruach Hakodesh in Hebrew. This is the way He brings us into a partnership with Him on the earth. He equips us and gives us the tools to do whatever work He created us to do in the first place. He knew us even before we were conceived, and each one of us has a divine purpose in this life.
