The Institute of Public Relations Malaysia (IPRM) was established in 1962 by group of Public Relations practitioners from commerce, industry and government who felt the need for an organisation to represent their rapidly expanding profession and undertake relevant professional programmes and activities. The IPRM, the only organisation of its kind in the country, is devoted exclusively to the study and development of Public Relations.
Today, the IPRM of about 500 members, has firmly established itself, and received recognition as the professional body representing
organised Public Relations practice in Malaysia.
WHAT IPRM DOES
PROVIDES EDUCATION AND TRAINING As part of its professional development and training programme the IPRM acts as an Examining Body for Public Relations Examinations at the Certificate and Diploma Programmes. Individuals can enrol at any of the approved local institutions preparing candidates for these examinations.
PROMOTES CAREER DEVELOPMENT An important responsibility of IPRM is to ensure that there are adequate opportunities for preparing men and women to enter the Public Relations profession and for helping those already in the profession to enhance their careers and to keep abreast of the developments in the Industry
