Welcome to my rant and rave page. On this page you will find a variety of subjects that I find importaint. Again, I must say that these are my opinions, and are not meant to be anything but opinions. 11/22/98 Nuclear War Let me state first that I do not know if the end of the world is coming. I only know that the world is changing, and so far, not for the better. What I do know is that at any moment it could end. My biggest fear ever since I was about 12 has been Nuclear War. So far as I can tell, if the end is coming, Nuclear War will be the cause. At this moment there are enough nuclear weapons to destroy the world 20 times over, and that is no exaggeration. Over the years I have looked into many prophets and prophecies trying to ease my own fear of Nuclear War. I have found only that they verify that my fear is well based. To this day I still have nightmares about Nuclear war. These dreams haunt me. I don't think they are premonitions, at least I hope they are not. I can't really say, but they worry me. I could handle meteors, global shifts, earthquakes, pollution, Y2K, but not Nuclear War. All other things pale in magnitude. If Nuclear War broke out, no one would survive, the world would end for all life. There are two things that keep me hoping that mankind will get beyond the terrible weapons we have created, God is one, the potential of the human mind is the other. Without both of these things, we are doomed. I have faith that if the button is pushed, God will step in. But I honestly think that Nuclear War is coming , and it is not that far off, and I believe that it will start as a small exchange that spreads until it is to late. The clock is ticking, and the world is not getting better. Stop the nukes, stop making them, stop testing them, stop perfecting them, stop playing with them. Someday a madman will get a hold of one, and that someday gets closer with every second that passes. There needs to be strict control and swift action in the world to halt the spread of nuclear weapons of mass destruction. Although realistically, I fear it is to late. There will be a nuclear war one day. An ominous shadow looms over mankind. 11/22/98 Our dying planet Don't kid yourself, we are in deep trouble. Our planet is dying. Slowly we are raping our mother planet of everything she has. We are taking away her forests, mining her skin, stealing her blood and using her without replacing what we take. This action of using up vast resources has basically created our own noose to hang us by. Don't you see a difference? Not as many animals, bad fishing, freak storms, the whole in the ozone layer, melting ice caps, the dying corals in the sea, whale and sea life beaching themselves, all of this is a sign of trouble in the earths ecosystem. Don't fool yourself, it is happening. If you ignore it, you are only making it worse, and only together can we make it better. Do your part, throw away trash in a can and not on the ground. Plant a tree if you can. Recycle everything possible! Little things make a big difference if enough people actually do it. This is a beautiful planet, don't help it to die, help it to live! It does no good to look around and say it is to big of a problem, it wouldn't be if everyone did their part. My country and its problems I love my country. I love freedom. This is country based on the idea that all men are created equal and are treated as such under the laws of the United States of America. Our country is in moral decline. From the White House to the streets there is crime. Guns, crime and drugs are rampant everywhere. Young gangs of kids roam the streets trying to make a buck anyway they can. The value of human life is not a priority for many anymore. These are serious problems that are almost to complex to fix. Much of the trouble can be found in the policies that our government has made in the past. Guns are a constitutional right, but gun safety is not required. I think it should be. I also believe that everyone with a gun should have a permit and background check. If you commit a crime with a gun, you should face heavy fines and mandatory jail time. Drugs are the cause of much of the crime you see today in the U.S.A. I personally believe that if you take the crime out of drugs, that would solve many of the problems we as a country do face. First off, if the U.S. Gov. taxed and controlled many of the drugs on the street you wouldn't have people running around with guns fighting each other for massive amounts of money and drug turfs. The taxes supplied could be used for treatment and education against drug abuse. Many crimes of today are because of illegal drugs...legalizing them would end the crime and allow for treatment without the fear of being prosecuted. I am not saying that all drugs should be legalized, crack cocaine, heroin, and many other drugs are just far to dangerous to legalize. These drugs should be eliminated all together and people caught selling drugs like these should be put away for a while, but the users could be sent to treatment paid for by legal drugs. Drugs are dangerous if abused, but we should all have the right to experiment if we are responsible adults. Another thing that is missing and is part of the cause of the problems we face today is bad parenting skills. There are far to many broken and dysfunctional families out there. To many parents let their kids grow wild. Then when their children get to about 14 or 15 they are not controllable anymore. Much of the time it is because the children didn't have a father figure to look up to, or both parents work and don't have time to spend with their kids. It is the parents respocibilities to raise their children the best they can and install in them the values and morals that these children need to survive and be healthy happy adults. It just is not happening as much anymore. We need to get back to teaching our children while they are young and before they grow up. We need to use gentle but strict discipline. Time outs and yes, a spanking from time to time. Many kids do not respect their parents, and all I can say is that as a parent, if your kid doesn't respect you, you screwed up somewhere down the line. Harsh words but very true. I will add more serious babble as I feel the urge. -Back to Babble- © 1998 dracodarkblade@hotmail.com
