Commander Lyle T. Rourke: 6' 4", 250 lbs, 54 years old. Commander Rourke is in charge of the expedition, and takes his job very seriously. He was second in his class at West Point, and since retiring from the army in 1901 he's been on many expeditions to very dangerous places. He's pretty much the bad guy of the whole group. Helga is his second in command, and although at one time all of the crew is on Rourke's side, he and Helga are the only ones who end up sticking with the plan. I have seen this movie more than once, and I think that gave me a really good oppertunity to see just how good the Disney animator are. When you see the movie for the first time, you aren't watching all of the littl ethings. But the second time through, I made sure to watch Rourke because no matter how nice he seems, you can tell that he's going to turn out the be the villain from the very beginning.
