Landser (M. Dorosh): a well-made and very informative site covering uniform, gear, rank system and related aspects of the German infantry soldier in WW II intended for reenactors, modelbuilders and historians. (a similar page by same author which extensively covers the Canadian soldier in WW II is Canuck )

Handbook on Japanese Military Forces online: This site hosts an online version of an extensive field manual of the US Army on Japanese infantry weapons in WW II; covers small arms, grenades and AT weapons.

Feldgrau / The German Forces in WW II (J.Pipes): a site which true to it's title covers many many aspects of all the German (and axis) forces and formations in WW II, mainly covering organizational and structural topics, but is a valuable online resource for any other related aspects, too. Has a message board on which experts will find an answer to probably any question you could have on German units or weapons of that era.

Third Reich Factbook: a swedish page (in english) with lots of facts on all the various organizations and aspects of Germany (and allies) during WW II

Military Forces Awards and German Decorations 1933-1945 : describes and illustrates the various awards of the German military in WW II, including the Panzervernichtungsabzeichen (tank destruction badge); the number of actually awarded decorations can be found here

Nahverteidigungswaffe (R.Cunningham): this site finally researched and demystified the fabled Nahverteidigungswaffe close defense weapon system found on late-war German tanks; the device is shown and explained in detail including the munitions used

Russian Military Zone (V.Potapov): this great page covers Russian (and a bit German) armor in WW II and other related topics such as camoflage, blueprints, guns, ammunitions, tactics, famous battles, veteran's experiences etc.; very exhaustive page on WW II on the eastern front.

WORLD WAR II Magazin: online version of the periodical which always features new interestiong articles on WW II

Achtung Panzer ! (G.Parada): most famous site covering german armor of WW II in great detail and with many information and pictures; includes all the different tanks used by Germany in WW II; sub-site of B. Panczerna deals with Polish tanks;
    related: Vehicles of the Wehrmacht by same author deals with the non-tank AFVs and vehicles used by the German Forces in WW II

Guns vs Armor (D.Honner): provides comprehensive data on Guns and Armoured Vehicles of WW II, includes analysis of penetration data, gun accuracy, ammunition and armour characteristics, ammunition types, armour manufacture, and terminal ballistics. Raw data is corrected to allow direct comparisons between weapons from different nations; sources are quoted and bibliography is provided, background information is given. Highly recommended.

The US Military History Institute's original WW II manuals and documents: site contains a huge archive of original WW II manuals and documents for download in PDF - format.

Festung Norwegen (C. Ellingstad): A weapon collector's page about the German forces during the occupation of Norway showing some nice pictures of German and captured foreign weapons and militaria.

Finnish Forces in WW II (M.Yrjola): Site covering the finnish forces in WW II including chapters on both the Winter War and the Continuation War.

US and Russian Small Arms of the Korean War: covers very nicely the various arms used in the Korean War, with pictures, technical data and description; many of these weapons were of WW II origin or direct descendants of WW II weapons.

Shadow's Folly: a site intended for tabletop and cardboard wargamers, this subpage includes data and descriptions of practically all WW II armor and guns, very exhaustive!

Luftwaffe: both The Luftwaffe Homepage and Die Luftwaffe - Das Flugzeugarchiv von 1939 bis 1945 contain pictures and data on the aircraft and weapons used by the German air force in WW II.

Hand Grenades (D.Lynn): website by the author of the authoritative "Grenade Recognition Manual" books himself. Has info and pictures of various hand and rifle grenades.

Examples of the Effect of Anti-tank Weaponry: this page is unfortunately rather small, but definitely highly interesting; it shows pictures of WW II tanks hit by various armaments and examines the hit locations and consequences

Bayonet Collectors Network (J.Jacobi): the webpage of the BCN, an institution of very knowledgeable weapon's collectors from all over the world; although they foremost specialize on bayonets, if you have any detail questions on german war items, esp. identiyfing stamps etc., you might want to try asking these guys.

Army Technology: a huge online Network where the contemporary arms industry shows their latest projects and current / future military technology
